No animosity between former teammates, both enjoying 2-0 starts
By Kevin Acee and Jim Trotter

September 22, 2006

Drew Brees and Philip Rivers were talking on the phone the week before the season started when Rivers asked Brees how his new team was looking.

Brees replied that he felt good about the New Orleans Saints, enough so that he thought they could be 2-0 going into their home opener.

On Tuesday morning, Brees checked his voicemail and there was a message from Rivers.

Despite what you might think, Philip Rivers and Drew Brees get along just fine.
“Hey, man,” Rivers' recorded voice was saying. “You said 2-0. Y'all are 2-0.”

So far, things could not have worked out better for the current Chargers quarterback and the former Chargers quarterback.

As Rivers spoke yesterday, the Chargers had just finished the final practice of their bye week, about to enjoy their weekend off with the satisfaction of being 2-0. Brees and the Saints are undefeated, as well, as they prepare to face the Atlanta Falcons in their long-awaited return to the Superdome on “Monday Night Football.”

Some of the drama queens here (Trumpy, Eldwin) should take a lesson from Brees and Rivers.

If they dont hate each other, no reason we should continue to fabricate shit to try and get the fans to hate one or the other... IMHO.

There is no drama.

Facts are facts. You either accept it or don't.

Your facts are strangley one sided, and all based on what one person has said. That one person could indeed be lying.

What amazes me is that this organization spent how many years looking for a QB with a good head on his shoulders and came up short? Then in a quick span we find 2 good ones? What are the odds? I would feel fortunate as a charger fan to have either of these guys under center. Its nice to see the front office finally gets it, and has worked wonders with the organization. It makes it worth it cheering for the likes of Craig Wheelihan(sp?) and John Friesz. Wicked.

Hey I do not blame Rivers calling up Brees and saying "yo asssshole, our team is doing fine despite you saying I do not know where the team is going without me and it just so happens I am smoking your ass in the QBR in the NFL MR. Mole-faced Pro-Bowl piece of amphibian shit. :icon_eek:

FU - Rivers is running it up Brees' ass.

He is saying "yo mole faced one I did good in MNF against the Raiders despite booman55's prediction and the rest of your jock swinging monkeys."

Rivers is shoving up his asss and rightfully so for the bullshiiit he endured for the self-fish moled face POS named Drew Brees who infested my field. :icon_banana: :icon_toast: :bolt: :foley53: :bolt:

Rivers will be fine for us! He is doing a great job so far, and will be a great replacement for the last good QB we had... Brees.

I still to this day hate the Mannings. When Peyton was comming out, Daddy dearest said that he wouldnt let Peyton play for New Orleans and Arizona (I believe), then with us Sheli couldnt play for the Chargers.

Fug the Mannings!

I was refereing to the 1998 draft when Payton was close to being passed over by the colts, they took him, we got whatshisname
The most sickening part was how we traded away the house, the wife, the kids, and the family dog to move up one spot to take Leaf.

But I'm not bitter or anything. I stopped sending BB hate-mail a couple weeks ago.

My bosses wife was Mrs. Louisiana back in that day. She kept being asked out by Archie. She said she didnt date him because his breath stunk, he was ugly, and he only wanted one thing, and it was not the Lombardi.

no question, since then (and until Brees) we've been thru hell regarding the QB position, hopefully the football gods rewards us with a HOF QB for his entire career, I'm 99% sure PR will be it

The funny part is that even after totally raping us in that deal, the Cardinals still couldn't do anything to improve their franchise. And the guy they picked would've been the biggest bust of the draft and one of the all-time biggest if he wasn't totally overshadowed by Leaf's meltdown.
