Ant there are rumors that you are the real father of Bridget Moynahan's child, can you confirm this?

I heard this news on ESPN Radio about a half hour ago. I thought Rivera was a 4-3 guy... And right now, from a personel stance, we're built for the 3-4. I'd just assume bring in a DC that requires the fewest adjustments to our defense ('cept of course for the "ghey prevent," and criminal activity, adjust those as much as possible).

he said he can be a 3-4 DC and in a way I think he'd be a better choice then Cottrell

He'd be a great DC for us but it will never happen

The ONLY reason Norval was hired was because he was the only candidate that was willing to bring in Cottrell to be our DC

For the record... Rip, you're totally one of my favorite posters from when I actually used to read the UT boards. But I'm curious what you're basing your stance on. Did you read somewhere that this was the case? Or is it 'cause Norv was the only offensive guy we were looking at, so his say kinda doesn't matter with regards to a DC? I'm just curious what you're basing your stance on.

AJ has been trying to get Cottrell here for a long time. Even after Wade left, AJ kept trying to get marty to pick him up. They have been friends since their days in buffalo and AJ has wanted him here since he first became the GM

One thing i've learned about RIP is once he makes up his mind on someone there's no changing his mind.

    Don't bother arguing with him.

is it possible that we hire Cottrell as our D Coordinator and Ron Rivera as our Assistant Head Coach?

It would make me feel a little better about our head coaching hire. :)

yep... and to think, we also have a lb coach spot don't we? doubt he'd take a step down, but I'm just wondering why Rivera is being the green light to go. I mean, sure he's not under contract, but the bears are coming off a superbowl year and are getting rid of their d coordinator so easily?

I dunno... Dean does have a history of being a little frugal... I don't think he'll be looking to create any more coaching positions than he has to...
