The most amazing thing – OK, one of the most amazing things – about the fact LaDainian Tomlinson for the first time has rushed for at least 100 yards in four straight games is that he has done so with so few carries.

He has rushed just 85 times over the past four games, yet gained an NFL-high 564 yards. He has nine more yards than Larry Johnson on 30 fewer carries in that span.
With 769 total yards over the past four games – on just 100 touches – Tomlinson is on pace to break his team record of 2,370 total yards set in 2003. At this pace, he would break the mark with two fewer touches than he did in '03.

Most significantly, Tomlinson believes the relatively light load of late will help him in December and, possibly, January.

“I've always wanted to be a guy that didn't need as many touches,” he said. “I would love for it to be spread out (among the rest of the offense).”

At the moment he finds the holes, he's gone into the open field for the TD

He's averaging seven yards a carry over the past four games. His lowest yards per carry tally game against Denver, where he got five yards a pop.

The guy is on a tear.
