The Chargers are the number one team in the AFC. He said it during the MNF postgame show on ESPN. Micheal Irvin and the other guy also had the Chargers in their AFC top 5 teams list.

Rivers, Chargers learn to seal the deal vs. Steelers

Associated Press
National Football League News Wire

SAN DIEGO -- With about four minutes left and San Diego
leading the Pittsburgh Steelers by seven points, Philip Rivers had
a gentle reminder for his Chargers teammates in the huddle.

"We haven't been real good at this," Rivers said. "We can be
smart and finish it off."............................................

Rookie left tackle Marcus McNeill broke a bone in his right hand
on Sunday night. Surgery won't be required and he is not expected
to miss any practices or the 49ers game, the team said.

Maybe Steve sees something he likes in young Philip. Steve retired as the highest rated QB in NFL history. I think he's got more cred than Salisbury.
You think? :icon_wink:

Lemme see, on one hand we have a QB that commandeered what many regard as the #1 greatest offense in NFL history to a Super Bowl victory.

On the other hand, we have a QB who was never better than backup quality and named after a steak.

I'm just glad to see Philip be able to bring the team after being 10 point's down. He did it with some damn good plays and some not so good plays.

I've always felt he was the real deal with his ability, but I like how he gets the rest of the players motivated too go out and do their job's.

He's on espn 20 freaking hours a day and there are a lot of people who's only exposure to the chargers might be when steak face says negative crap about them. I don't particularly care what he says, since his position changes on every team from week to week. But it doesn't change the fact that he's out there talking like this in front of millions of people who already hate our team.:icon_shrug: :icon_sad:
