SAN DIEGO – APRIL 14, 2019– The San Diego Strike Force (1-6) secured their first win in franchise history against the Cedar Rapids River Kings (1-6) by a final score of 40-34 on Sunday night at Pechanga Arena San Diego.
Strike Force quarterback Jihad Vercher went 12-19 for 114 yards in the air and two touchdowns.
San Diego running back George Moreira Jr. had 58 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown. Vercher also rushed for eight yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Marques Rodgers contributed one rushing touchdown as he tallied 30 yards on four carries, and a receiving touchdown as he reeled in six catches for 43 yards.
Strike Force wide receiver David Carter had one catch for a 45-yard touchdown to end the half.
Cedar Rapids quarterback Kurt Palandech went 11-15 for 134 yards and one touchdown.
River Kings running back Nathaniel Chavious had 24 rushing yards on 10 carries and three touchdowns.
Cedar Rapids wide receiver Jordan Smith caught five passes for 59 yards and had one touchdown in the game.
