Police harrassment at the Stadium.

#1
For those of you that now me, you know I'm not one to start problems, especially with the police, but last night was ridiculous. I was sitting on the tailgate of my truck, talking to Sully. We were waiting for the exit lines to die down so we could get out of the stadium. The cops were swarming the lot like sharks in a feeding frenzy. Finally one of the sharks spotted us as prey.

The officer pulled up and yelled at me to dump out my beer. I’m of legal drinking age and drink in a parking lot designated for tailgating. There is still a line to get out of the lot. So I think to my self, I’m not doing anything wrong. I answered the officer, why don’t I just finish it. I just didn’t see the point of wasting beer. Beer that I paid for.

Officer’s eyes got big with rage. Anger was fuming from this officer of the law. He jumped out of his car so quick and started reaching for his cuffs. Should I go to jail for a principal? Fortunately that was not an option I wanted to try out. I dumped the beer quickly.

Is this how the Charger, the City of San Diego, and the San Diego Police Department want to treat honest law abiding citizens? It’s not like the lot had been empty and we just refused to leave. We were simply waiting for the traffic to die down.

Between these over aggressive police officers that would be serve the community much better by trying to find the real bad guys and the new parking set up which is design to rape the fans, it really makes me wonder. Do the Chargers really want to be here like they say? Are they so pissed about this stadium that they are taking it out on the fans? Do they really think we are so stupid that we’ll put up this harassment week after week?

All I can say is next time I’m going to have a video camera rolling. If we get harassed like that again, it’s going on tape. If it gets totally out of control, I’m sure a few of the TV stations would love to have the footage.

I wouldn't take it personal bro...unfortunately not many people want to be cops anymore (except for my daughter) and as such it's mostly bottom of the barrel type of people they recruit - at least in the big CA cities.
I didn't take it personally. Hey I think the police are underpaid and under appreciated in San Diego, but compaired to other cities I've lived in, they are also unresponsive when you really need them. There are exceptions. There are some very fine officers that wear the SDPD uniform, but it just takes a few a-holes like this guy last night to give them a bad rep. I'm just going to make it standard practice to run video in the parking lot after every game. Never know what you'll catch.

That is some nerve of the cop asking you to pour a beer out and you are an adult.

Dude sounds like an ahole.

The nazi sign police at least approached me last year with some class instead of clubs and attitudes drawn and at the ready.

We were harrassed a few times during and after the game too. Nearly arrested once. Funny thing is, we didnt end upleaving until 2.20 AM. Just us, a cooler filled with the last 12 of beers, and some smoked Wahoo tacos. Good job coppers.
