The loss of DE Igor Olshansky for another 2-3 weeks due to arthroscopic knee surgery isn’t as devastating an absence as if DT Jamal Williams had gone down for an extended period, but the underrated Olshansky’s ability to occupy blockers and push the pocket do not go unnoticed among teammates. Head coach Marty Schottenheimer indicated the powerful Olshansky was one of the most improved players coming out of training camp, and he has raised the level of his game this season since missing the first two weeks with an unrelated knee injury. A rotation of Jacques Cesaire and Derreck Robinson will replace Olshansky.
