This is absurd from yesterday's Mets-Philly game.

First, how in the world does the ump make that horrible call? Well okay, we know the answer to that lol.

But second, why in the world is that not reviewable?

ygbsm.......just unacceptable. this is why major league sports is getting a bad rap with officiating/umpiring. How can anyone paid what these guys are paid to do make that call?????? The ump should be fined a large amount for that and not allowed to ump playoffs and maybe suspended for while at least. There needs to be accountability for that type of incompetence.

That guy has NFL Referee written all over him. But the video 'review' was pure Goodell.
They were reviewing the call at first? Why... when you can see the ball at second?
This is why technology is no answer to leagues with corporate rules, corporate interests and really not a damn care about the “integrity” of any game, baseball or football.
Just sell the cars, stop pretending you really want a fair athletic event.

Steve “Mongo” McMichael calls out Angel Hernandez at a Cubs game during the 7th inning stretch. Hernandez is a real prick. Had Mongo ejected from the ballpark afterwards. But the expression on his face is priceless. This is 20 years ago.

The Los Angeles A’s of Oakland.
Las Vegas Aces

Tradition be damned. The money, honey. The gambling cut.

The origin of the team name dates to the 1860s, when it was adopted by the Athletic Club of Philadelphia’s amateur baseball team. That squad turned professional in 1875 and carried over the name as the Philadelphia Athletics. Led by owner/manager Connie Mack, the Philadelphia Athletics baseball club was founded as part of the new American Baseball League in 1901.

Though the franchise moved to Kansas City, where it played from 1955-67, and on to Oakland, where it has called home since 1968, the nickname remains, though the club is now often referred to as the “A’s” for short

Ok, this is sounding familiar. The city of Oakland wants to advance an idea to build on the current site, but the A’s and MLB wants the prime real estate spot. Baseball has historically built ballparks in urban, “less desirable” areas such as Yankee Stadium, Ebbets Field, on and on and on.

One thing this article doesn’t make clear is the land usage: do the A’s buy the land, or is the city supposed to give it up for trade for the “improvements”? Also find it weird the capacity is less than 40,000, that’s practically small for MLB.

This idea sounds “brand new” to me.

The ballclub is seeking $855 million in public money for infrastructure improvements around the new stadium, which would be generated through special tax districts around the development. The club also hopes to develop the land around their current Coliseum.

vegas. it’s a done deal. Money. Money. Money.

Yeah stupid Nike bullshit. They started by putting this crap in the NBA, now it’s permeated into MLB.
what's the reason???? they aren't really throwbacks. just more merchandising? political? cancel culture? what's the reason. They are ugly as hell. Can't imagine what the Padres would end up with,,,probably some pos looking crap uniform.....will have us wishing we'd had the camo's fulltime LOL

Oh and the Cubs uniform looks like pajamas:laugh:

WTH?
What terrible idea. Boston without the red color? Wrigleyville? Spanish names of the team?
Frickin terrible. More corporate selling of merchandise. Hate it.

I predict the “Senior Circuit” will be renamed the “Cooly Aged First Leaguers.”

I always thought the Yankees and their pinstripes, the Cubbies with their bear and red and blue,
the Cardinal bird resting on bat, he’ll, even the Dodgers 'LA' in blue, the Pirates.....were magic.

As a Little League kid you wore the exact uniform of your big league heroes.
Now....you wear a chosen color pattern, the hat and jersey say (Corporate) Little League.

Fuckin'.innocence lost.
Corporate takeover.
