    Hey guys,

I'm trying to plan my trip to SD for either the first or second weekend of January to come out to a playoff game (hopefully the second...........get the bye and keep winning Bolts) and I need some pointers on where I need to stay at. I have done San Diego several times and I am somewhat familiar with the area. I've stayed at Hotel Circle and downtown at the Sheraton and enjoyed both. What I'm looking for is something not too cheap, but certainly not W expensive, and near a San Diego trolley line stop. That amenity would be a +++++, especially on gameday. Any advice that y'all could give me would be great. Thanks for everything!!

    Hyatt > Hilton.

Sounds like Ron has a good plan for you otherwise. Are you renting a car? If not I would suggest Downtown again.

Doubletree Hotel Mission Valley. Trolly line is steps from hotel, stadium is close by, and Trophy's Sports bar is right next door.

When I was there for the Rams game I stayed in Old Town at Best Western Hacienda. It was actually pretty fuggin' cool. Trolley is a few blocks away, the restaurants (esp Coyote Bar & Grill) were pretty good, and we never needed our car to get around. The trolley can take you downtown to the gaslamp too.

Rooms were $150ish and really comfortable. Free WiFi.

    Kinghooker,

I'm sitting here in my office and just priced that exact hotel. I like that hotel's proximity to just about everything. Thanks for all of you guys' help.
