Sandolf is getting his account reinstated. He and I have come to an agreement that will work for both sides. Anything that has happened in the past is just that, in the past. I would like to ask all members to not drudge up past issues and move forward with civil conversations. Sandolf has pledged to do the same thing.

Thank you.

I would like to thank robdog for his contribution to our dialogue. Our differences have been resolved to my satisfaction. I also think it to be counter productive to rehash what is now behind us.

Apparently you forgot the very modest attribute. I'm sure that we'll be besties ;)
Thanks for what you said after FCB posted the message from me. That was real fine character Herr Blitzschlag.

Well Conc. You can't say that these disagreements don't generate interest.

Oh I have always agreed they do... Like auto accidents where the lil girl in the back seat says 'slow down ma, theres and accident..... Ah go on, there's no blood...' ;)

I remember, oh not so fondly the heady days of the forum cold wars where people would huddle in the dark and seedy hidden threads at this forum or that, and 'tee-hee' to one another as they planned on launching angst attacks against threads on other forums. Jasime, and a few at the UT would do that from their forum from time to time...

There was a vibrant discussion going on at the UT when I found it. Shamrock's post above best describes what has become of it... (imo of course). The question is what happened in between. My personal view is that Jeff Dillon... (fondly remembered as the Green Lizard)... took a hard line towards quelling dissent and basically crushed the life out of the place. The Forest Ovaries of this world who were left to direct traffic, and not very bright people in their own right, found it best to emulate their master... (who eventually was laid off in some cutbacks). Trumpet Man, Kim Possible, HymroD, Thread Killer, BFISA, etc. are still around, and it is good to see that some of them are still alive. The guy I fought with over there already died.

There is a word I have adopted from the vocabulary of IAD that goes a long way to describe the UT Forum. Vapid. But it is not that this board doesn't have a few like them too. Quite the contrary. It is their lobbying to increase the intolerance of minority opinion, alternate forms of expression and plain ego which has them reaching to the report button. As I said in my first post in this thread that I am satisfied with my dialogue with robdog. I did go through an awful long process to get my day in court. My feeling is there should be no reason to go down roads already traveled elsewhere.

I am certain you can find vapid individuals on any and all forums. But remember, when painting people with a broad brush, often the pain can get spilled on your clothes. So what may be seen by one person as an expression of ego, may indeed be seen a completely different way by someone else. I think the basis of not rehashing things has to be grounded in a willingness to try and avoid labeling people with tags of vapid, egocentric, troll etc... which causes much of the consternation... something many of us (such as that egocentric, vapid, troll Conc) need to exercise... No?

Regarding the bolded... what was posted in NNS speaks for itself and requires no commentary.

I agree with most of your post, and especially regarding the overuse of the troll word. That has been bent in so many directions that I hardly think it carries much meaning anymore. Ideally we address what people write as vapid and not stretch that to label their entire human existence. I had the occasional experience of having an actor sitting in my editing suite during work. They would hear me curse about bad continuity and altered timing throughout the various takes. What I was cursing was the product on the film that I was forced to piece together, not the actor. Some were able to assess their performances objectively. Some took it personally.

Thanks for writing LG. I do appreciate this... (my feeling was that Mr. E. Choppie eulogizing me as a misogynist was amusing, but fortunately not real accurate).

I hope things are well with you and your husband. I can imagine you may be rather challenged currently. My best wishes to you in any event.
