Brees deserved better than this. But they asked him to win it too late.

Gates, like Dr. Livingston, finally is discovered. But you've got to hold onto the football.

Offensive line

D-

Defensive line

B+

The Eagles offense scored 13 points. Somebody did something right.

Linebacker

Merriman gets the start and has five tackles and a sack. Edwards is everywhere.

Secondary

A

Hard to remember when the DBs played so well against such an aerial onslaught.

Coaching

F

Another very winnable game lost, and some decisions could be questioned.

This is when the Chargers' season begins.

Can't argue with those grades. But I wouldn't give the coaching staff a "F" beacuse they did make the right adjustments to get us the lead at the half. They should get at least a "c-" or "d+".
