New OLB starter

I think most people will assume that Phillips becomes the starter with Foley not being available. But, wouldn't it be best to keep Phillips in his regular rotation of pass rushing specialist? That way his legs would be fresh and could continue to get great production.

Could Harris fill the role in primary running situations? I think he's probably better in run defense and LB pass drops than Phillips.

Do you trust Harris dropping into coverage?

I honestly don't know. I haven't paid much attention to Harris.:icon_shrug:

I'd prefer to leave Phillips in there full time. Harris isn't a good run stuffer his specialty is pass rushing and he's adequate in coverage.

We still have Donnie, so start him in Foley's place, and rotate in Philips as usual.

Harris over Phillips???????????????

:icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:

Phillips should of already been the starter

Too bad we dont have a reliable guy to bring in late in drives/games, but i think is harris good enough it play those few plays a game

The reason Donnie is playing ILB is because he is 225 lbs...and idealy he is too light for that. No way we stick him at OLB.

We had no let down when Phillips started for Foley last season...
Phillips had 3 FF's and 7 sacks..pretty damn good for spot starting...
Kid is a playmaker and at 6'3 260 he is no slouch against the run either...Harris will spot Phillips now...Harris can get after the QB pretty damn well...and had a really nice TFL against the 49er's when he blewup the fullback and stuffed the RB for a 5 yard loss...kid is a player...

SP is a little week against the run but that is Castillos side and I think #93 has a monster year.

Let's let the guy take most of the snaps for a at least a full gam and take a looksie at him.
Dog, when Phillips started for Foley last season it was against 3 of the top backs in the League...McGahee, Holmes and Jordan and they all three were totally shut down...Phillips is 260 and can play the run tough...
