Here's some positive stadium news.
SAN DIEGO — There is renewed optimism that the Chargers will remain in San Diego, 10News reported.
The mayor and Chargers ownership had their first face-to-face meeting, which has been called productive.
The team has said in a letter to San Antonio, Texas, that it is focused on building a new stadium here, and not pursuing any sites outside the city of San Diego.
“I’m optimistic. We had respective dialogue,” said Mayor Jerry Sanders.
“We were very encouraged. We’ll talk to anyone with an idea on keeping (the) Chargers in San Diego, which is what we want to have happen,” said Chargers attorney Mark Fabiani.
Another meeting between the city and Chargers is planned in a few weeks.
