My sons played soccer this year, I have been asking them to be more agressive and hussle more.

My youngest sone today had the ball and was moving it down the field ahead of most other players. One kid ran up to Talon and they went face to fore head. Both kids went down, the other kid with a gash on his head that required stitches, my son with a broken tooth. Their idiot dad didnt think to get them mouth guards, until now. But my boy said he wants to keep playing and will still be agressive. I am happy to hear that, I was afraid he would quit.

When I played Pop Warner football, one of the kids blocked a punt with his face. Even with the facemask on the helmet and a mouth gaurd he broke a tooth. It was kinda funny because the football was actually stuck in his facemask. His parents didn't let him play football after that though.

Good going Concudan.

I remember in high school, during a basketball tourney here in Chula Vista that CVHS was holding, one of the male players got tied up with another going for a loose ball on a rebound. They crashed into the stands, and that one player went head first, and the other landed on him. He (the one on the bottom) ended up with his first four front teeth knocked completely out.

Sorry to hear that buddy... and who says soccer is not a contact sport...

I'm also a proud dad... my youngest soccer star carried her team to a big win Sat, when it was losing by 2, by scoring a hat trick... most proud that she didn't give up... it's really great to see them "suck it up" and be the best they can be...

living vicariously via my kids...

Still proud, but a lot poorer. $2100 for a crown, and insureance covers $1000...

Ouch... But I think Talon learned something so its all good...
