These are the pics I took last time I stopped into Kolob Canyon in Southern Utah. It is actually part of Zion National Park, but you can't enter the main park from this area.
The camera I had at this time was just a simple point and click, I need to go back with my current one.

Pictures please!
Those are some amazing photos by Conc. and Gilly...thanks for sharing them!

Still can't get over DFW's photo...it's almost like the cover of "Houses of the Holy"!!

Mine are nothing special...just a cabin in the woods!
First couple of days were cooold...snowed the first night! Chickened out on taking the bikes, which was a good idea. We had 10 guests -within our bubble- who came up sporadically throughout the week...so for my daughter's birthday on Saturday, we had a full house. She's finally done with Med School and going off to Myrtle Beach, SC to start her career, so in a way it was also a send off.

I'm getting my vaccine tomorrow and will be heading down to Chicago for about a month. I have little job I have to do for my aunt, and then I'm heading down to Myrtle Beach with truck full of Ikea furniture!

Beautiful property and lake house you have there, HOF. Love the boat house. That's a very unusual dock - I don't think I've ever seen anything like it before. Where I live, all the docks on the lake are either floating or fixed.

What's the reason for the lift?

Thanks, it's been my sanctuary over the years...I built most of it by myself using scrap material from my other jobs.

Lake freezing in winter is the reason for the lift. We saw the last frozen patches float by during the week we were up, so the dock was lowered in place before we left. I even saw a couple of brave boaters on the lake, but mine are still in shrink wrap. Lake life is different up north.

Ah yes, that would make sense.
