Bochy to talk to giants

Looks like the pads will be searching for a new manager. Bochy to talk to the giants tomorrow and make a decision by monday before Bochy leaves to Japan. I can almost guarentee he would take the job if they offer him a multi year deal. He has one year left on his contract with the Pads for 1.9 million.

ESPN just reported as their source that the SJ Mercury-News states that the SF Giants have come to terms with Bochy and will announce it at a press conference tomorrow. :icon_eek:

Well, if true, at least the Bochy-bashers won't have himta kick around any more.

Jes speculatin that him and Towers ain't seein eyeta eye with Alderson on the direction the Pads should take.

Too bad, IMHO.

Bye Bye Boch!

SAN FRANCISCO -- With Bruce Bochy set to go to Japan on Monday to manage a group of major leaguers in an exhibition tour, the Giants had to move fast to pry him away from the Padres.

After a day of talks, that's apparently just what they did. Bochy agreed in principle to take the job left vacant when Felipe Alou's contract was not renewed, two baseball officials told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday night because the deal was pending.

The Giants scheduled a news conference for Friday to announce the deal. The San Jose Mercury News reported Bochy will receive a contract of at least three years for more than $2 million per season.

Dropping Bochy is the stupidest move the Padres have done in years!!!

Is Girardi still on the market? We should get him.

He isnt a traitor. Padres expressed ZERO interest in keeping him. How is it that a manager wins the west with questionable talent two years in a row and doesnt get an extension?

Hey Conc, but there were some things that he did not do.

He is a players manager, and with that they like to play for him.

And that is because they know he wont put a foot up their little rear ends when one is needed.

How many times did our Pitchers protect our batters after someone on the Padres got hit with a pitch? Or at least throw one up and in.

How many times did he leave a Pitcher in there too long?

And when things are going wrong, how many times did he go out and argue a bad call?
