Reggie Bush is #1, and I think that has more to do with hype than anything else. Bush has yet to score a TD. Addai has had a better start to the season.

Well, at the risk of sounding argumentative, Cromartie hasn't even cracked the starting lineup and McNeil is only there because of an injury.

Yes, yes... I think they are good players, but as recently as 3 weeks ago on the podcast, Loren was questioning McNeils play.

NO CORMARTIE!!!!!

WTF?!

This is insane!
The only Cromartie sighting this year is when he gave up the only touchdown the defense has allowed.

As Milton Berle used to say, "I'll just bring out enough to beat you"

Whenever I talk football with you, I only use about 5% of my knowledge. That way it's a lot closer to a fair fight.

Is that so, well then Vince, why not lay out the coverage on the play in question. Who was in the back field and what was their assignments.

Come on man, lets see that vaunted 5% your bragging about...

I am breathless with antici....... pation.

McCree came over and the ball was throw just over his outstretched hand. I think that one was on McCree more than it was Cro.

McNeill has faced quality pass rushers the first two weeks of his career and he they have not sniffed the QB. Sorry, but the whole, "he's only there because of injury" argument is pure shit. Oben has been injured the whole offseason, so it's not like McNeill had an opportunity to beat him out and couldn't. As for Jordan, McNeill was promoted ahead of him before Jordan was injured.

We can what-if all day, but the job was Oben's to lose. There were many people around that were quite nervous when McNeill was given the spot, as he had a shaky pre-season. Again, I think the kid is a stud and I am not uncomfortable at all with him right now. If he continues to dominate pass rushers for the rest of the year, I think he will have a great shot at it, but it doesn't really shock me that he is not on their radar this early in the season.

The Chargers used Neal and TE's to chip on McNeill's defender quite a bit vs. the Titans. Still, he did a very good job, but it wasn't domination.

I agree. The announcers called it "man" coverage, but it sure looked like Cover-4 to me.

Half a step, and it would have been a deflection, but give Young credit. He and the WR found the seam in the zone, and Young had perfect placement with excellent velocity.

Yes, that was a very impressive throw. Definitely zone coverage. THere was not a very big hole in the zone, but Young and Bennett found it.

Through two games, McNeill has played almost flawlessly at one of the most important positions in football. I think that warrants putting him among the top 10 rookies thus far, especially in front of guys that are not even starting.

If he gets to game 9 with few or no sacks, and few or no holding calls, then I think fans could wager a campaign on the media to bolster McNeill's candidacy for OROY.

Right now, he is playing well, and only has one penalty (illegal procedure vs. TENN).
