In watching the Aztecs' victory over New Mexico, 31-7, at Dignity Health Park, commentors
Mentioned that Coach Brady Hoke agrees Dignity field not feel or look like a home Aztec game.
He cited a lot of items, and the fact they want their fans.

You guys gotta let it go. They are the only show in town
They are actually not even in town. And when they do come back to play in that glorified high school stadium they’ll never reach the heights of a top 10 team, they’ll never even reach the level of a BYU.

They aren’t even the top 50 in enrollment. Not sure what you expect.

Fuck BYU

When they played at the Murph they never could fill that place. So why would they build a stadium with 60K seats??

If you want SDSU in the top ten, then they need to get the hell out of the MW and into a Major Conf. Then they can attract higher ranked recruits.

Also it is a San Diego problem.
Tons of Saturday Night/Day options besides going to a football game.

You said glorified HS stadium at 35K. There is ZERO reason to build a bigger stadium at this time.
So hate all you want on SDSU, but they made the right choice.

The largest HS stadium in the U.S. seats 22,400. It was built in 1937-1939.

San Diego State averaged 29,896 fans in 2019 for its football games.
.
I'd say post Covid, 35,000 is a perfect number and not a glorified minimum building.

2OT. Aztecs beat San Jose State 19-16

SDSU (6-0, 2-0 Mountain West) became bowl eligible for the 12th straight season with the win. But SDSU came into the game more concerned with its pursuit of a conference championship than a postseason bowl berth.

Virtually everyone connected with the San Diego State football team labels pretty much any social media post with the hastag #Win22. (Conference title)

That was closer than it should’ve been.

I listened to the Aztecs game last night. My main takeaway was their punter Matt Arazia, the kid has kicked three 80-plus yard punts this season, an 86 yarder and two 81 yard punts. He is only a junior and Uncle Teddy thinks he's even better than Ray Guy, Reggie Roby, and Mike Scifres. The kid has touch too, he routinely pins teams with their 10-yard line.

Aztecs won BTW 20-14.

I watched it. Aztec defense held them all game until the 4th quarter. AF starting qb injured and his replacement could actually complete a pass. It was close. Came down to the Aztecs needing to make a stop on defense. Unlike the FUdeans, they held.
