Aztecs making a run.
Damn,,,they had it within5 , almost 4 if they'd made 2 free throws. Then gave up a 3 pointer. 8 points down. Gotta make a run. They made a couple of desperation shots there I didn't like...that killed them. Still can get back in....they are scrapping....need a couple more steals.

take away that 9-0 run just now and the Aztecs are right in it. Choked at the wrong time.

Ah well better team won. At least SDSU had an unreal run. This should help their recruiting. They need some offensive studs along with that D. Not sure who are seniors and underclassmen.......that would be key for next year. But without a major league arean in MV and practice facilities and next to a major league stadium they just look minor league...they got what they deserved by insisting on that fucking stupid stadium and pushing away the possibilty of an NFL , NHL, NBA capable complex in MV.....small thinkers in their administration and got greedy.

Big issue is the NIL, the rule that allows college athletes to get paid. SDSU can’t compete on that level. They need to leave the Mountain West and get into the PAC-12 or Big 12 like right now.

Watching the game, it's easy to see why UConn won every game in the tournament by double digits - they had it all, and at least 2 deep with big guys, shooters, and good defenders.

There's no shame in getting beaten by a better team, but with a decent offense, this game could've gone the other way or at least ended up much closer.

I really thought the Aztecs had their shot when they pulled to within 5 and almost within 4 (missed free throw). Then they collapsed as UConn went on a 9-0 run. It was a combination of things I saw: missed free throws....not finding an open man for a decent shot and taking a desperation shot (credit UConn D), turnovers, didn't dominate the offensive boards as they had all tournament, and got killed on the 3 pointer differential....UConn simply had way better 3 point shooters. Yup, better team won, no shame really. UConn deserved it. Too bad we got that far only to get blown out. Ah well....some other time. I don't expect it soon.

Agree with fender this team needs to be in the Pac 12 not the Mountain West........even the announcers mentioned that they couldn't believe SDSU is stuck there. Well partially credit the truly crappy football program and thinking really small with that stupid high school quality stadium....that is not worthy of the Pac12 either. Dumbasses in the adminstration...then they hire a lacky like Hoke for the football HC...he was a total failure at UM...the alumnii hate him there to this day he screwed that program up even more than it already was. Harbaugh made a major improvement in his first year and now look at them.

SDSU is a small thinking school in a small thinking town with a small thinking city council. fuck them all. All they can do is manage to sabotage good faith efforts due to their corruption and greed. Not gonna change until all that political dysfunction changes. And despite all that the really truly evil player in past efforts was spanos. How unlucky can a city be to have these ridiculous goof offs making policy decision and trying to negotiate for a modern sports complex in MV. Now look..there sits Snapdragon....a worthy testament to the truly minor league thinking and greed and corruption of them all.

The fans do not deserve this shit. SD has great sports fans. Only the Padres are worthy right now. The rest are pretenders and teasers who suck now and always will unless something or someone sets them straight.

Even though they got their asses kicked they are in a great position to get into a bidding war. The PAC 12 is desperate to replace USC and UCLA, and the Big-12 wants to expand to the West Coast. Preference would be the PAC-12 only if they don’t lose Washington/Oregon/Arizona - they’re still looking for a TV contract. They definitely should not be in the MWC next year and if they are it’s a typical small minded fail.

good points....will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I still think they oughta figure out how to expand that stadium so at least it is capable of holding more fans. Also there should be an effort to get a sports arena down there although I guess there are efforts elsewhere. Too bad because MV is just so central to all of SD and the setting is ridiculously good there and really friendly to tailgating etc. MV in that area is screaming for a bigtime major sports complex but there was too much haggling over ownership of it all to get it done.....major missed opportunity IMO.

That stadium supposedly can be expanded an extra 10,000 or something like that but that won’t cut it. They blew it with Crapdragon. They’re lucky they have the basketball program, otherwise they’d eternally be in the MWC.

Great effort, fine program.
Schools rarely excelled at two sports.
Go ahead and hate Snapdragon all you want.
It's self paid, no public revenue, no Government handout. And built.

University of Conn. Huskies

  • Bowl Record: 7 Bowls, 3-4, .429 W-L% (Major Bowls)
  • Ranked in AP Poll: 0 Times (Preseason), 0 Times (Final), 6 Weeks (Total)
  • Stadium: Rentschler Field (cap. .38;000)..
  • Location: Storrs, Connecticut.
The CRDA estimates UConn needs to draw 20,000 people or so each game for the stadium to break even. That’s 20,000 through the turnstiles and not simply the tickets distributed and sold, because so much revenue is based on parking fees, along with food and concession sales.

Actual attendance for the first two games — 11,615 for Central Connecticut State, 15,607 for Syracuse — is up from last season but still short of the 20,000 threshold.

UConn’s athletic department has been operating at a $40 million-plus shortfall patched by institutional support and student fees. But school officials have pointed to the rents paid to the state for use of Rentschler Field and the XL Center in Hartford as a misleading portion of the budget — essentially, money moving from one state entity to another.

Thats great and all but SD is not Storrs CT. Maybe Crapdragon could be located there. Or let the chugs play in it in Carson. This is SD one of Americas largest metro areas especially if you include the counties up to oceanside.that stadium is an embarrasment to america’s finest, sorry.

Yes but the NFL is a business based on getting what they want paid for by someone else. Say Snapdragon could have been state of the art, a 60,000 seat stadium, in Mission Valley. Would folks accept a local sales tax increase?
a property increase? San Diego is a great city, but it takes a visionary like Pete Seidler to see what c@n be vs. NFL owners of you built it, you pay for most of it , and we'll grace you with our presence for say 10 years before you need improvements and your owner needs "help" to be competitive.
WWE and UFC are now under one company, Endavor. Fake fighting with real fighting, more money, more money. What can we stream? And when?
Stock market shares increase. Snapdragon is part of this new world.
It's not the cause

snapdragon may not be the cause of it but it's a symptom of it and a huge eyesore of a symptom at that. SDSU did it's share of fucking things up in the negotiations BTW. A minor share compared to dickwad spanos and the nfl but nevertheless they didn't help things. And of course the city council did their part. I'm just saying that thing stands there as a monument to stupidity. Montezuma's revenge...literally. :poop: :D
