As well as we've been doing overall, I still think that we need that big playmaker on our return teams. If we don't allow Cromartie or Florence to return kicks, maybe we should consider bringing Hakim in for the remainder of the season. He is 100% healthy.

I hear you, maybe he can learn to play DB... :icon_wink:

EDIT: I'm just very reluctant to bring in anybody that played WR in Detroit.

I'm not sure.... we certainly don't need WRs and I like Turner returning kicks.... he has the ability to run over guys and break tackles and he's been doing okay. He almost had a TD return on one.

You're taking up a roster spot for a guy who's just going to contribute in a small way..... parker is doing a pretty good job returning punts, too.

Yeah that would be a good idea becuase we won't let florence or Cromartie Return Kicks as they are a big part of the Secondary but if we have enough Wide Recievers already then we'll pick up a return specialist.

So it will be a Win-Win Situation for the Chargers:icon_banana:

Do you considered a player the Chargers drafted dumpster diving??
I consider Polk or like Ray said Withrow are players that simply take up room on the team and don't contribute or do anything worthwhile
As such why not get a special teams demon?
Because he's released doesn't mean he's garbage, the Lions are retards to begin with

no shyte i agree, we could use some hakim type fireworks on our special teams. he signed a decent deal with detroit a few years ago, i guess they decided they didnt want him taking a wr roster spot.

The TenderLoins (aka the Lie-Downs) gave him a shot a couple years back in hopes he could step up into a #1 or #2 role but he's been a real dissappointment up here. My personal opinion on him is he's a servicable slot reciever (for the right price) that peaked in ST. Louis. HOWEVER, WE DONT NEED HIM AS WE HAVE PLENTY OF TALENT at WR. All we need is a game breaker. Besides, how often do we run a three WR set sans LT?

We need some speedy receivers. Ive been saying this all along. Our receivers are average, but clutch. We need one WR that can break away from the CB's.

I don't want Az Hakim. That would be a 7th WR we really don't need.

If we don't want Michael Turner or Eric Parker returning kicks/punts, and Cletis Gordon hasn't done such in the regular season, why not give Camarillo a crack at it?

If Az still has kick-return ability I wouldn't have a problem with bringing him in. If all our linebackers were healthy we could dump Carlos Polk. Unfortunately, we need Polk for depth right now (as horrific a though as that is) I don't really want to release anyone currently on the roster.

Id rather have him back there returning kicks then anyone currently on our roster

Id say to make room for him, we should cut either Steve Gregory or Greg Camarillo

I believe Steve Gregory was already cut. I'd like to see Gordon returning kicks if he's healthy. What's up with Gordon anyhow? I haven't heard anything about him for a while.

Nevermind. I was thinking of Nick Speegle. He was the one cut.

Gregory could develop into a decent player. He's already damn good on special teams. I'd like to see SD work him as a safety, rather than as a CB like they did this past preseason.

Az-Hakim is truly trash. He is NOT healthy, as he has very little cartilage (meniscus?) left in one knee - as reported on Sirius. The Cardinals wanted to sign him this offseason, but he failed the physical. Then Detroit signed him. The Lions are the one team he had a decent shot with, because Martz (Hakim's former HC in StL) is the OC in Detroit. If Martz cut him, then you know his career is done.

He was a slot WR in a 3-4 wide offense. He's not a blocker. He would have a VERY limited role in an offense like SD's - even if he were healthy.

He's not even worth a look-see. If SD is going to add a return man, all they have to do is activate Gordon for a game.
