I hope AJ trades for Volek, I think we may sign Fiedler if he's available though. I hate taking Miami's cast offs (And yes I know he was cut from Tampa, but he's still a Miami cast off).

Damn didnt even realize Fiedler was injured. Shows how much I follow washed out QB's. AJ won't go for damaged goods.

A 6th rounder or even a 5th rounder for him.

Volek would be a nice get. If PR went down I think we could win with Volek--the way the Bills were always able to win with Reich. Volek's been playing for some pretty crappy teams and still put up respectable numbers.

But he'd have to learn our system and would have to resign himself to being a backup. He can't come in thinking he's in an open competition for the starting job, because he'll just end up getting frustrated.

    Exactly.

He is at a point in his career that he thinks he is a starter.

For this reason I don't see him coming here.

Rivers is the man for the forseeable future. The only way Volek would play is if Rivers was injured.

    Yeah, but check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Volek
John William Volek's bio... from Hemet, Ca. Went to Fresno State. Better to be a backup on a team with a future and also happens to be near your hometown... than, well... on a Tennessee team stuck in the middle... staring at Kerry Collins' fat *** for next 4.5 months.

I say Bring Home Billy Boy. We need him here in Boltland.

    Yup.

Since he wants out he can go to Cleveland or San Diego.

Cleveland --> Snow, Misery, no Super Bowl chance.

San Diego --> Sun, Babes, Beach, Super Bowl contender.

Even as the #3 QB, it's a no brainer to get that ring and get a tan while riding the pine!
