I guess your "rich Silicon Vallyite" theory is a factor; but when I look in the stands at the games that I've been to, and when the cameras pan over to the crowds on TV, I don't see a lot of that type of fan in the stands. Football is still a working man's game, it just takes a much bigger chunk of his paycheck now. Of course, I'm mostly in the East Coast and football mentality is kind of different on this side of the continent. What I can tell you is that in the East, it's the Pat*s fans that are everywhere. They travel in plane loads and I've been to games where they've taken over opposing stadiums...something that's hard to do in a town like Buffalo. I don't think that was the case before 2001, so I attribute much of their traveling fanbase to people wanting to associate themselves with a winner....Same thing could be said for the 49'ers in the West Coast. 49'ers are the Pat*s of the West!!
Can confirm - I went to the Titans/49'ers game in Nashville back in November, and the 49'ers fans showed up IN FORCE. And they definitely did not strike me as the "silicon valley" type - to be honest, they looked a lot more like Raiders fans. Blue collar. Did a bunch of Raider's fans convert to 49'ers fans when the Raiders moved to Vegas? I have no idea, but there were a lot of them - I was surprised that many of them showed up for a cold game in Nashville.

ha, you bookies that took Cincy musta been feeling the heat there. 26-19 and Raiders just fell short at the end on a 4th and goal from what I hear. You all can relax now LMAO.

Chargers'new 2022 uniforms. All helmets will have the word Herbert on them.
Also introducing “Roaring Lightning”, probably an orange angry tiger-like cloud.

Knowing the idiot owner it would (and maybe should) say “SPANOS” on the side of the helmets.
You shouldn't give ideas. I'll reckon they'll soon remove some lightning bolts
(the helmet is good choice) for the words “Los Angeles”.

Late to the party but it looks like I got 2 games to pick from left to go.

Hmm think I wanna pick KC but the 4 remaining, well maybe not steelers teams could all be the team that gets past the conference championship and at least gets to guest star in the big show.

I got a feeling cards gonna roll the la Rams.

I know you posters waiting for me to handicap AFC playoffs using my years and years and years of experience so here goes:

Cinn. upsets the Titans. I'll call it at 35-24
Chiefs beat the Bills. Hell of game but Chiefs are red hot on offense (as are the Bills) and get the home field advantage. If KC defense can make a few big plays, intercepts and a few timely sacks, I'm calling the Code Red.
You're damn right I will.

The Title game....The Dallas Tigers vs the Kansas City Chief
as League permits Jerry Jones to lease out the Bengals for this game, adjust the roster and with both draft choices and cash, and a guarantee the Team will remain in Cinncinati till 2066.

from Goodell, I feel dirty picking either....but I'll sell out and pretend it's all legit...
The Bucs. Kinda hope I'm wrong. Hell, no. Give me the Rams.

ok this week I'm taking the Bills. Crazy risky but I'm gonna hope the Bills offensive dominance of the Patriots (Bellichek) was a hint and that Vrabel the blockhead will not be able to stop Josh Allen and Co. Don't let me down HOF lmao

I think Green Bay is the lock of the week. Jimmy G vs Rodgers. Enough said.

Tom terrific better have a direct line to the replay booth if he want to have a chance to beat the Rams. Rams look tough. They made a good team look bad.

Unless Henry comes back at a 100%, titans are in trouble.

We will see how the bills handle real speed. Patriots are running with cement shows. Chiefs have warp speed. I give the edge to the chiefs.

Oh shit! LOLOLOL. Shows how involved I am. Ok let me rethink this one. So cincy at Titans???? Hmmm.....and then you got the 2 NFC games. I don't like picking either of those 2. I guess I'm gonna change up and make the Titans my pick this week. Damn lol. Ok maybe I'll be taking your guys next week HOF unless they blow out the chefs and look like SB winners. (vrabel is a blockhead, so he's my pick either way LMAO, seriously look at the guy during a game....his head is in the shape of a block! lol)

Mike Vrabel...I don't care about the shape of his head, I hate him anyway!...I remember him from the 2007 AFCCG. That was the game that Rivers played with a torn ACL, and LT sat out. I remember Vrabel who was beat on the play, legwhip Rivers on his bad leg and cause him to throw an interception to Ellis Hobbs. That was one of the dirtiest plays I've seen on a player who everyone knew was already playing hurt.

Vrabel has his work cut out for him trying to stop Joe Burrow and that high flying Bengals Offense. Hey, Burrow is coming off of knee surgery...maybe he can have one of his linemen do a Kimo von Oelhoffen roll in to his knees. As far as I'm concerned, Titans have always been a borderline dirty team, and Vrabel is the right coach for them.

Yeah although I picked the Titans I hope Cincy wins actually. I remember that and used to hate all the Pats players but mainly guys like vrabel. Maybe you'll get yours HOF,,,,,,maybe if the Bills beat KC and blockhead beats cincy you can get your revenge in the AFC Championship.....I'd definitely bet on the Bills in that if they can manage to get by KC at Arrowhead. But truthfully I'd not take em in the Survivor Pool if they get to that point 'cause then my money for the surivivor pool would be for the Bills to go all the way. Damn that would be sweet.

Well, during the season the Bills played both -KC & TEN- back to back in Weeks 5-6! In Week 5 they went in to Arrowhead and clearly outclassed the Chiefs in a 38-20 rout. The following week they went to Tennessee and allowed 10 unanswered pointed in the 4th Quarter to lose 34-31.

The Chiefs had a couple of hiccups after, but they used that Week 5 loss to the Bills as motivation to turn their season around...They only lost 2 games after the rest of the way. Worth noting that those 2 losses came against TEN and CIN!!

I think it's safe to say that the Chiefs have gotten better since Week 5, while the Titans were at their peak mid-season when they beat the Bills and the Chiefs. The Bills are going to have a much harder time at Arrowhead this time around, than they did their first time there. Not only the Chiefs are playing better now, the Bills will be without Tre'Davious White who limited Tyreek Hill to 7 catches on 13 targets for 63 yards and 0 TDs in the first meeting. Hill is not fully healthy -dealing with a foot issue- but I still think he's the most dangerous weapon in the game; and if the Bills can't contain him this time around the result will be completely different. Mahomes has cleaned up his game, and stopped trying to force the ball downfield... he's learnt to take what teams are giving him, and using all his weapons. Another new wrinkle in the Chiefs offense is the emergence of RB Jerick McKinnon as an option in the passing game...The kid is fast and shifty, and Andy Reid is creative in the ways he has used him in the past two games. The Chiefs are not as good as they were a couple years ago, but they're a heck of lot better than they were in November.
The Bills are driven by the sheer will and immense talent of Josh Allen. He's developed that special QB-WR relationship with Stefon Diggs, and they form one of the most dangerous combos in the league. The offense proved they can score points against a Belichick D last week, so I expect them to be able to put up good numbers in this game; but this game will be decided by the D that allows the lesser points, or even helps out with a few points of their own.
The Bills D Coordinator, Leslie Frazier is one of my favorite people in the NFL. He doesn't have the rah rah personality to be a HC, but he is a silent killer as a DC! The Bills D is all about scheme...they don't have the superstars that drive other Ds, but if I was to build a D in the NFL, the 1st player I would choose would be LB Tremaine Edmunds, and Frazier as DC. They lost an Allpro in White at DB at a critical juncture of the season (Week 11) and didn't bat an eye, finishing with the No. 1 overall D in the League. They're stout against the run, but they allowed an outrageously low 163 passing yards per game! I'm not comparing the two, because the 1985 Bears D caused an obscene number of Turnovers (59), but to put that 163 number in to perspective, the 85 Bears gave up 176 yds/g through the air... 2000 Ravens gave up 187.3 passing yds/g. Of course those teams are recognized as two of the best Defenses EVER and both won SBs in convincing fashions, but neither had an Offense like the one the Bills have currently. The Bills are good enough in Run D to stop KC's injury riddled backfield, and if they do, I don't think that Mahomes can beat them in the passing game....or should I say, not as badly as Allen will torch their D!!

Great analysis! Should be a GREAT game. Chiefs fans are really lucky to be able to see it live. Although the SD Chargers were usually a playoff disappointment due to incompetent ownership, i really miss live home playoff games and the atmosphere and tailgates. Mission Valley had to be one of the best venues for that in the country. Typically in the end days spenis refused to consider a M V proposal. He’d made up his mind to head to LA, and i believe a lot earlier than most realized

If GB loses in the playoffs, the Cheese Heads will blame:

_The Coach
_Aaron Rogers
_Not drafting well at all
_Being in a Weak Division
_Chicago Bears, because why not?
_It was on the West Coast

you over value the bills defense. They will have problems containing the speed of the chiefs. Yes, they played before but was eons ago. Mahomes has been unleashed. I also think the chiefs d line will get
Qb pressure which New England couldn’t do. The result will be the bills are not going to score on 7 straight drives.

I may have overvalued the Bills D...I wouldn't call myself a Bills fan, but I did pick them to win the SB at the beginning of the season and that may have tainted my judgement....BUT numbers don't lie, FB...they do have the No. 1 D in the league, and most casual fans would have a hard time naming 3 players on their D. Allowing 163 passing yards per game through 18 games, in today's pass dominated league, is not just good; it historically great. Furthermore, if you look at my score prediction, I have the Chiefs scoring 31 points...far from a shut down!
The Bills, or any other Defense in the league, would have a problems containing the speed of the Chiefs...That's why the Chiefs are at home in the playoffs. If you look at the last sentence in my post, I fully expect Mahomes and Chiefs speedy receivers (No. 3 offense in the league) to torch the Bills No. 1 D for good points; I just think that Allen and the Bills No. 5 ranked Offense will put up more points on the Chiefs 27th ranked D!!
If the Chiefs weren't so banged up at RB, I would've given them a much better chance to win this game...But Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) practiced for the first time in weeks on Wednesday, and is questionable for the game....So is Darrel Williams who didn't practice yesterday (toe). Their "healthy" backfield consists of Jerick McKinnon, and Derrick Gore! It just so happens that what the Chiefs do best on Offense (pass) is exactly what the Bills are the best in the league at stopping. The Bills lost 6 games this year, other than the loss the the Jaguars which was probably one for Vegas, all other losses came against teams that can RUN the ball...IND, TEN, PIT, NE, and TB, all have better rushing attack than the Chiefs posses with a fully healthy backfield.

Regarding Chiefs D line and the pressure they can bring -which NE couldn't- it's exactly what Josh Allen thrives on. He evades pressure at a higher percentage, and throws for more air yards under pressure than anyone else...He is a BIG boy and his ability to move out of the pocket and make plays with both his arm and his legs puts a lot of pressure on a D who decides to blitz him. If the Chiefs bring pressure, watch for Allen to make a lot of plays outside the pocket and also run for good yardage...if they try to spy him with the "honey badger" Tyrann Mathieu, he will torch them deep to Diggs and Sanders.

2021 Advanced QB Next Gen stats haven't come out yet, but I'm sure he's improved on what they say here after the 2020 season:

Allen posted the most air yards per attempt under pressure in the NFL last season (13.2), reinforcing what we already knew: The Bills QB isn’t afraid to let it fly, no matter the circumstance. That statistic is interesting, though, considering how much Allen improved his efficiency in 2020. We might have an explanation. Allen evaded pressure at a higher rate than anyone else in the league at 26.1 percent — an increase of nearly 10 percentage points from his mark in that category in 2019. Mobility mattered for Allen, who has thrown five or more passing touchdowns under pressure in each season of his career. Allen and Matt Ryan are the only quarterbacks with five or more passing scores under pressure in each season since 2018. Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and the Bills staff found a way to maximize Allen’s abilities in 2020, leading to their memorable season and deep playoff run. Now it’s up to Allen to continue on this track and try to help get the Bills over the hump in 2021.
