Ah well, he's had so many good outings I guess one is gonna come up and bit him in the ass.....he does neet to cut the caffeine though if that's his issue.

yup, pitching mismanagement today killed us. Even if Hill had been brought in earlier we would have survived that disaster.....if they'd realized soon enough how uncomfortable Martinez was out there and pulled him for Hill we probably win.
yeah just letting him got to 100 probably gets us the win. I'm not sure what Niebla and Melville are thinking there. No need to get cute with the pitching...let the guy run...yeah he gave up a solo HR...big deal...look what methtinez did...a grand slam to completely take us out of it.
Another issue....leaving runners stranded....those hitters who failed to advance them need to also take a choke of the day award.
I thought the guy was money, I really did....he was so shutdown for so many games and then breaksdown like a drugged thoughrobred. You could just see how burned out he looked....he was sweating, fidgeting around, and instead of working quickly and efficiently as usual, he was taking all kinds of time between pitches, wiping his brow, sighing....looked like baked shit.
Well I’m gonna look at it this way: if we can win every series from here on out we make the playoffs.
yeah that was a tough team and we took them 2/3.....made them pay. Should have won today but oh well.....they hopefully learn from it and don't mismanage again like that. That was totally winnable. Methtinez had a truly horrible outing, way atypical for him.....wish there were a way to predict if they were going in with 100% vs 20% of what they normally have.

I hope today was an anomaly for Methtinez. He was interviewed on Gwynn and Chris and he described his routine, like two pots of coffee, a bunch of Red Bulls, some shots of some kind of protein powder and then he heads off to the park. Those Red Bulls are not good for you, I don’t understand why he needs such an insane amount of caffeine. But all that said, everyone has a bad day, he was due and I hope he gets back to where he was, he’s an important piece in the ‘pen.
