almost makes me want to say fuck MLB altogether  Those are 2 morons who could have at least been diplomatic and said both are equal in their minds. Instead chose to be dicks about it. I almost hope Olberman comes back with a new tweet......"Fuck Manny's Grandmother and fuck Manny too":D:tup:

Manny could have said that but he was being honest. Nothing wrong with that. That's how much this tournament means to those players.

I think it's a good thing. IMO, it gets the players better prepared for the regular season rather than playing in all these meaningless spring training games where they're not even really trying.

I call bullshit on that one. There WAS one diplomatic individual who figured it out and gave the right answer. But not Manny or his fucking grandmother or the other stooges  The only saving grace for Manny is he correctly stated he'd never won a WS. So he's right, how the FUCK does he know???? I'd wager if asked the same if he ever gets the fortune of winning a WS he'll suddenly grow a brain and answer diplomatically they are equally wonderful, or he may even , in his moment of glory...say "nothing is like winning the WS" lmao. Jeebus...these guys are truly lacking brain power. Makes me want to puke that answer they gave.

my opinion

The WBC is personal, the other is a business goal.
Jim Thorpe played professional baseball, the professional
football, new evidence is that he played professional basketball and was
considering a try at pro hockey.
Two time Olympic Gold winner, first Native American to
win for the Sac and Fox Nation.

I am no more proud of my career as an athlete than I am of the fact that I am a direct descendant of that noble warrior [Chief Black Hawk].
-Jim Thorpe

The Yankees, you see, they're a money team, they're the class of baseball. You don't ever bet against that.

I view the WBC like the Olympics, you play for your country and there's a greater pride involved but it's the World Series and the pursuit of titles that gets one the big contracts and potentially into Cooperstown, not the Olympics or the WBC.

I agree. This is 100% about pride and patriotism and nothing to do with the ugly business side of sports. it's great to see.

It's a shame you guys aren't enjoying it.

The overwhelming view I see online is very positive for the tournament, which is pretty surprising knowing how negative Twitter, Reddit, YouTube are.

There are some really epic games going on. Normally during spring training I'm bored out of my mind watching a bunch of nobodies who will never sniff the majors and just dying for the season to start, if I even bother watching the games lol.

great article thanks! That is very encouraging. Especially that Tatis is hitting and contributing.....that was the big thing I was waiting to see and he's looking to be back in form. Damn, it is right on, that lineup is dangerous all the way through especially if Grish hits this year. No real breaks for pitchers as they said. Pick your poison. This will help our pitchers a great deal. Now if we can get solid consistent pitching from 1-5 and hopefully also 6 , we will do bigtime damage. Can't wait for the season to start and for Jr. to get back from the suspension. :D

If all works as planned that article may be correct....best hitting lineup the Padres have ever fielded in their history. We find out soon! LFGSD.

That sucks for Houston, a really unfortunate and IMO unnecessary loss. At least for the Pads, Martinez is reportedly coming back as he’s not slated to pitch anymore. Last man left is Yu, hope Japan doesn’t burn him.
