WR Williams, 3 other Lions suspended for betting
Four Lions players, including Jameson Williams, have been suspended for violating the NFL's gambling policy. Williams is among two players being suspended six games, while Quintez Cephus, C.J. Moore and a Commanders DE are suspended indefinitely.www.espn.com
Nope. Never saw this coming.
The NFL has openly embraced gambling, has gambling sites as major sponsors, put a team in Las Vegas, and they’re suspending guys for partaking in legal activities. It was easy to justify these types of suspensions when the NFL had a hard nosed anti-gambling policy but they squeezed the toothpaste out of the tube and there’s no putting it back. The players union should sue, withholding a persons right to earn a living by punishing them for activities that are legal, not to mention simply participating in an industry the league makes massive profits from.interesting they suspended 3 guys indefinitely that aren’t starters but a first rounder only gets 6 games.
