well there goes the no hitter and there goes the shutout....1-1.....Kim having a rough nite, although that last play probably difficult for ANYONE including Jr. ....phils had some luck there.

even if we'd had all our offensive studs we probably woulda struggled mightily to be close in this one. Mus just way off in that inning...weird how he just collapsed after a great start.

yeah really bad karma right off the bat (no pun intended). well he admitted he blew it at least. But to just pull all your offensive power....not sure it woulda mattered though as Joe got blown up badly in that inning. Eh.....gotta recover and get the next 3. The phils are vastly improved...gonna be tough but this is a series we need to win, not just split but win.Gotta blame this one on Melvin. What are you doing sitting Jake on his bobble head night?? I'm afraid he's not ready. He's gonna take a while to age down in the minors ....every time he comes up he craters. This is not good because it limits his value in a trade......and because of the logjam in the infield (provided Jr. actually comes back and is 100%) then he SHOULD be trade bait.
It was actually 6-2, Grisham scored from 3rd on a ground out by Alfaro in the 8th.
Get 'em tomorrow. Jake and Voit should be in and Alfaro catching. Plus no Alcantara. Having him and Abrams back to back is brutal.
This lineup tonight was easily the worst one we've used this season.
Voit and Jake sitting on the bench when Manny is still out? If he wanted to rest Jake, why not against Arizona or in the 5th last night when we were up 8-1?
Profar taken out of the leadoff spot when he's been tearing the cover off the ball in that spot?

Melvin gets a big F for this disaster of a lineup. It was lifeless and looked like they had no plan all night against Suarez. It was looking like he was going to go 9 innings on us.

Couldn’t agree more. This was a tink-like mistake. Messing with what is working like that can really eff things up, destroy momentum. Lets hope they rebound strong tonight. Feel really bad Mus got no decent run support. Still a bit surprised Mus melted down in that inning though. It was all around a terrible game and melville takes a goog part of the blame. Agree grade F.
I thought this week was going to be rough with Manny out but we stepped up against Arizona.
Tonight is Gore, tomorrow is Snell and Sunday is Darvish so now our hopes of splitting the series probably comes tonight with Gore who has been struggling lately. Hopefully his struggles was some odd thing with the Rockies.
I think there's a good chance that we lose the series against the Phillies now because of the tactical blunder last night. Not the end of the world of course but completely avoidable in my opinion.
Yes, maybe it was a factor. He was on fire until that sixth inning. Who knows, maybe he ran out of gas.
According to Melvin, Jake was getting a "planned rest" day. Voit had a sore hamstring.
