  • Before Wilson and Hill worked extra innings, Nabil Crismatt pitched a hitless seventh, Luis Garcia a perfect eighth and Taylor Rogers a perfect ninth to keep the game tied. It was just the 11th time in 70 games this season the bullpen worked five or more innings and the fifth time it has happened in a game that went extra innings. Through 70 games last season, the bullpen had covered at least five innings in 21 games. Of those, six went 10 innings or more.

  • Eric Hosmer tied last night’s game with a home run in the sixth inning on a two-strike knuckle curve from Zac Gallen, the same pitch the Diamondback’s right-hander had used to finish off two strikeouts of Hosmer earlier in the game. It was Hosmer’s first home run in 139 at-bats.

  • Jake Cronenworth’s hitting streak ended at eight games.

  • Ha-Seong Kim was 2-for-4 last night and is batting .333/.442/.476 over his past 13 games. That has raised his season line to .230/.317/.362.

  • CJ Abrams was 1-for-3 and scored a run in his second game since being recalled from Triple-A. The rookie shortstop is batting .180 in 61 at-bats this season.

  • Jurickson Profar walked three times last night. He has a .372 on-base percentage over his past 40 games and a .342 OBP for the season.

  • The Padres and Dodgers are in a virtual tie for first place. The Dodgers, who have played four fewer games than the Padres, are ahead on the basis winning percentage.

yeah Gore is tailing off and I wouldn't expect a hell of a lot.....too bad after the spectacular start he was having and was on his way to ROY, but this is no major surprise....part of the ups and downs of a rookie.....and getting sent down will not be a shock. We'll see. Wishing him the best.....when he's on he's lights out.

There are no "strikes". There are pitches. It's not a strike or a ball till an
Umpire decisions it is. There is no "strike zone" nor a requirement it be in that
make-believe magic strike zone. "Getting a call" doesn't make sense.
Pitcher throws ball. Hitter hits ball or misses ball. Assuming an Umpire factor
controlling factor is not recommended.

I think you need to read the rule book.
