Think someone who has a Gambling addiction would say,
"God, I'd love to.....but the NFL told me.......Jesus, I know I could clear
$20,000 this weekend with my four game system....but I gotta bet responsibly.
So, It"s Sunday...day games only....SNF might have action if I need it."

"The league is launching a responsible betting initiative aimed at getting fans to set limits on their wagers, understand the risks of betting, and know where to get help if things get out of hand. It is partnering with the National Council on Problem Gambling to improve the group's nationwide help line, create new treatment programs and expand existing ones, and educate football fans who gamble on how to do so responsibly.

"Sports betting is supposed to be fun," said Christopher Halpin, the NFL's executive vice president, chief strategy and growth officer. "We feel it is critical that the NFL uses the power of our voice to educate and encourage fans who choose to gamble to do so in a safe and responsible way. We also recognize that responsible betting programs across the country are under-resourced, especially as legalization spreads nationwide."
Jeebus what a bunch of crap.......they have ZERO interest in helping addicted gamblers out or any interest at all in people or fans or cities w fan or anything else humanitarian. They put on a real show re: their being on board helping the African American community, or their "deep support" for various causes which the public thinks are worthy causes (whether even true or not) . That is all cover for their real desire......greed for more money and influence by molding an image they think the gullible public will buy and stupidly believee they are supporting a worthy cause by puchasing tickets or anything else to watch the bullshit product. And this is why I am gradually disengaging from sports, at least major league sports. It's all about the benjamins as someone once said.

Re: The Padres and Chihuahuas you posted last in the Baseball forum. That young man Rosario plays with a deep passion and love of the game......we see NONE of that ever with the major league club we watch daily hoping to see passion and focus and a desire to win the World Series......and we are again duped every year to follow that crap product. Those players are also in it for the money just as the league is......they are molded by the player association to be that way.

I would love to just turn that forum into a Chihuahua forum and wish we could watch daily the games from El Paso TX. I'd just stop watching the stupid MLB games and look forward every day to see true baseball....the way it should be played with passion and focus and energy. I could care less if it's not broadcast nationwide or with all the hype and new neon uniforms and all that bullshit.

Eff major league sports and btw FUCK OFF DEAN. GO DEA!!!!!! Kick his ass in court.

And to show my own personal disgust with major league sports today I'm not even watching the Padres game. Not posting about it or watching it. Who the hell cares about them?

So things like Demaryius Thomas getting CTE from too many blows to the head and dying at age 34 are collateral damage for the NFL and bigots like Roger Goodell and the 32 owners who profess to be looking out for African Americans and players in general. In fact what they are is a sports plantation.

For you NFL fans...

As also reported by CNBC, the contracts between the NFL and CBS/Fox prevent the DirecTV successor from significantly slashing the $300 per year price for the package. This protects the companies that have paid big money for the ability to put games on the local affiliates available in a given area.

Did it say anything against raising prices? After first year, they will be.

Yeah seems like a strange marriage.
Money grab by Steelers. Investment vehicle for company to push name, will probably come apart in about five years.

Another sample of the Spanni Circus unable to get its own stadium anywhere and reap the grift. But the Twin Boys are big time LA Dudes. Yeah, impressive.

The NFL and these dudes should get along.
Snyder should have lunch with them at Steelers-Commodes game.

I read the article. Good find harry. I love how the company claimed they had no idea about the former CEO’s ponzi scheme. Like no one noticed 480 million dollars missing from the books. They promised investors a 35-50% return. I would have loved to have been in that meeting and listen to that sales pitch. Lmfao.

Note': this post could be labelled "political" but it is not that at all.
It's trying to say Sports Is politics. That the dollar retained is King. That the new
MVP is the lastly streaming contract. I think it's impossible to separate how things are run vs the men running on the fields. It's been say, Politics....is the art of the possible.

You have high inflation, poor air travel, threatening
weather changes, reduction of personal rights. You have a NFL demanding and getting taxpayers money, selling out streaming services (Apple) for it staged performances, executives refusing to testify (above the law) and their ever-increasing personal pockets.
The first is part of the second. The second ignores the first.

The 400 wealthiest Americans saw their collective fortune increase 40% over the last year, to $4.5 trillion. Nearly all are richer than they were a year ago. There are 44 new names on the list, which now requires a minimum net worth of $2.9 billion, up $800 million from a year ago. What hasn’t increased? Their generosity. The number of Forbes 400 members who gave away more than 20% of their net worth since last year’s list dropped from ten to eight, while those who gave away less than 1% of their wealth rose from 127 to 156.
---
Sports, eg Football, Baseball, is no longer a diversion . It's an industry. And inflation
is understandable as those that have, get more and more and those that don't have adhere to a belief that somehow it's "normal" for the billionaire to pay no tax, for the law to leave them alone, for the economic problems to
rest with them alone and their fuel bills and food bills, have no bearing on those that raise the cost on everything to cover and maintain their industry's profit margins.

Sports as diversion is dead. Sunday Ticket...Stadiums.....PPV.....
money, greed all done to get to whatever is left that you didn't pay at the pump or for the bread your kids thought was a good idea.

So, it's hard to discuss seriously whether Baker Mayfield can make it in Carolina or
Whether Bugsy Rockhead thinks his teams has the SB tools to amaze the Division, while the corruption of the main entertainment Studio rings up its deposits.
Prime time. Poverty Time.

yeah that totally sucks Harry....damn. That's your stadium bro. That is a perfect metaphor for how the NFL values tradition and history and the wishes of the fans. In just about everything, you follow the money and you will learn about those elites that are controlling the most of it. Yes a damn shame they are taking down that iconic Heinz Ketchup Bottle.....WTH. Cancel culture the NFL way.

Do you really think Bobbie was going to renew his contract with Pittsburgh?

He bought out Heinz 2015 so I am sure when the naming rights was up, he had no desire to renew.

who is Bobbie? And why would they not renew unless the naming rights contract renewal was outrageously high. Heinz should be a subsidiary or principal of a huge conglomerate anyways right? Or are they a standalone brand? I didnt go into that company profile stuff much other than seeing news that they had some big arrangement with OreIda...that has to be huge. So to not renew should mean Pitt was after huge naming rights way over and above the usual....so Acrisure steps in with their money and desire for further advertising I guess. Whatever...it's all just one big huge business pile of crap now in the NFL and sports in general.

"We Are Family".....the Rooneys get a black eye over this IMO if they didn't seek all paths to get a renewal IF Heinz was still a possibility......however if you are right and 'Bobbie" had no intent to renew no matter what...well not much anyone can do about that.

I don’t think Robert Kraft owns Kraft-Heinz.
and the google search of "does robert kraft own Kraft-Heinz"
  • The answer to this question is no. The only thing that they have in common is the name Kraft. Also, Kraft foods did join Heinz. Co and it is owned by investors who are nowhere related to Robert Kraft. Robert Kraft has no relation to kraft foods. But the naming was done after James L Kraft.
