Greedy? Yes...Bastards? Yes...Assholes? Yes...but to be fair, the majority of them actually voted against Spanos and his asinine joint venture with the Raiders. Even if they left a door to LA open for him, I have to think many in that room must have been shocked with him actually going through with it. I happen to think he did it out of spite. This was never going to end well for anyone!!
THIS. Is a winner post!

I doubt highly Goodell or majority of owners are happy with train wreck that is the Chugger Circus.
I know one owner who still shops at Walmart that will eventually get Dean to take off or pay out millions.

Yup true. It was predetermined in a sense. Bad outcome for all. But IIRC there was a contingent of about 10 owners or so who backed spenis over Kroenke.....they felt he was a good soldier over the many years and had earned it. The problem is their support of him led the real powerbrokers like Kroenke, Jones, Kraft et al to cave to the idea to give Dean the consolation prize and give him an opening to leave, and although they might have been shocked at what Dean did, they should have known he was a total loose cannon and above all else was vindictive, just as he'd always handled business with SD. Some of us predicted all along what dean was all about and where he was headed,,,,others insisted it was all a ploy for negotiations. It wasn't that tough to figure it out knowing who he is and the guy he chose to represent him....you know the ex vice mayor of LA LOL. Greedy bastid assholes, all of em.

It's hard for me to choose which team I hate the most,,,,,Niners or Cowboys.....I hate Jerrah that bad because it's no secret I've hated SF for years....but I'm hoping the Cowboys knock out the Niners and then the Cowboys lose right after

If the Niners and Jimmy G. can have zero turnovers, it will be a close game.
Otherwise, Cowboys will win big.

I wouldn't call it predetermined...I think Deano walked in to that meeting, thinking he had the votes...I think Jerry orchestrated a mini coup and pulled the rug out from under him pretty much right there at the meeting! I think the "consolation prize" was awarded solely to make sure the Raiders don't end up in LA. I think once it became obvious that the Raiders are Vegas bound, many owners expected Dean to stand pat in SD for at least another year or two while Stan was building SoFi. Had he done that, I think there would be construction on a new stadium in SD going on right now, and the SDC would be in the playoffs!!

I'm convinced that Dean exercised his option, WHEN HE DID, without league blessing and that whole Carson Soccer Stadium fiasco was his way of sticking it to the league. The whole thing....the now forgotten "Fight For LA"...burning bridges in SD...25K stadium filled with opposing team fans...meddling in Stan's construction project....lowering SoFi seat pricing to an absurd level...willfully creating a revenue shortfall that resulted in paying nothing for construction costs...the acrimonious relationship that now exists between him and Stan...It all wreaks of spite and vindictiveness....Cause let's face it, NO ONE is that stupid!!

Great post. But if Spanos isn't stupid, why not go to City X and get a Stadium for free and Its revenue (Oklahoma City.....Portland...anywhere an Indian or Vegas Casino wants. )
When Deano (borrows) to put out $650 million to move to a Stadium he has no equity in....I call that stupid. The whole “we have fans in LA” etc. crap is just another small time delusion that is common with the Spanni. Recall in SD, the claim no one would buy the PSL licenses and in LA they could sell thousands? I think the parasite ownership of Deano is what drove him to rush to LA. That and his baby boys wanting to become big shot NFL executivex in the big city of LA. If one looks the off field antics and the on field decade longs incompetence of multiple terrible coaches.....I think calling Deano stupid is the kindest thing you can say.

best post ever. Dean is stupid, greedy and delusion which is the deadliest combo of all. He is always on the wrong side of history in his decisions he had made. Fire Ross. Fire schotty. Cut Harrison and seau. Drafting leaf. We could go on.

I think saying "NO ONE is that stupid" already implies "he's plenty stupid"!!...
...Maybe I should've emphasized "THAT" instead of "no one" with the allcaps??;)

Good articles the new "wild" playoff system. The solution I'm sure the NFL will propose to its "fans" (oh, of course, not really....just the owners and its mega sponsors) is interconference (just like the ’regular season') playoff seasoning, 7th NFC teams versus 7th AFC team, same with sixth seeds), maybe same with 5th vs. 5th, too, to insure a three game wildcard weekend. Give fans an appearance that "the Eagles can beat the Raiders." You end up with three winners. I will gave the team with best record over both conferences a bye and reseed the match ups. What....you say, you might have more NFC teams than AFC? So what? This is TV.....just like the regular season. Could the SB wind up NFC v. NFC? Or AFC v. AFC? Sure. But no one cares, fans would pay bigger bucks to see two true no.1s play...not all that phony history crap, no one cares about the teams, it's all personality, Rodgers vs Mahomes, and it's all really about Gambling. More games that apear to be more competitive....means more bets and more cash

Hey dak, fuck off

https://sports.yahoo.com/opinion-dak-prescott-postgame-blunder-111923550.html

Dak Prescott should be ashamed of himself – and not because of the errors in judgment that squandered the final seconds off the clock in the wild-card playoff loss that ended the season for the NFL’s biggest tease, the Dallas Cowboys.

No, the Cowboys quarterback ought to check himself for suggesting that frustrated fans at Jerry World were in the right for dangerously hurling trash at the officials who called it like they saw it.

"Credit to them," Prescott said during his postgame news conference.
