I have to say, this one is a head scratcher for me:

someone is gonna sign a damn good CB . Bellichek and Kraft seem to be letting their key players walk and not retaining them if their demands get any where near out of what they consider a 'team approach' to the cap. They sort of did that for years....letting the great talent walk when their salary demands exceeded a certain cap level they had in mind....and it worked as they always came up with another Wes Welker etc etc. Brady was the glue. When they allowed him to go and Bellichek constantly bickered about his trainer etc etc.....a totally stupid move. As it turns out Brady was apparently taking less money all along so they could build around him and keep the team constantly competing for rings. I think they are done as a dynasty for quite a while until Kraft changes his ways and possibly Bellichek retires. Just a hunch. Never like to bet against Bellichek but I think it's turning out Brady was more key than Bellichek lol.

This was a long time ago but there was a pretty big SoCal Cleveland Browns club that operated out of LA. They may not match the Duhs but they should be out in force. It’s obvious that Spenis doesn’t care, he just wants butts in the seats.
yeah I don't know about nowdays re: browns fans in LA or SoCal....probably enough to get half the stadium LOL. Agree, spenis is all about the $$$$ and always has been. He'd love for his team to be the #1 NFL team in LA but never gonna happen even if they manage to be the most competitive of the 3 LA teams for a while especially if the pervert turns out to be HOF material. He is a hated owner and LA never wanted him around...Kroenke hates him.....the chugs will aways be stepchilds in LA. One of the worst business decisions ever. But blame for that goes around....NFL huge blame....SD city huge blame and spanos just a dickhead who couldn't negotiate his way out of a parking lot.

What makes this puzzling is that the Pat*s went crazy, spending over $150M in guaranteed money -record- on FA in the off-season. They left themselves $54,000 of cap room, which necessitated this move. That's NOT modus operandi for the Pat*s. Furthermore, they're not really using the big names they signed to their full potential. Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry have 27 catches for 229 yds combined.

Imo, this current Pat*s team is a work in progress, and they have ways to go before they can compete in their own Division, let alone the league....BUT, they are getting better. They played a heck of game against TB, and Belichick has them playing hard for 90 minutes every game. Mac Jones is improving with each week and Josh McDaniels is slowly opening up the playbook as the trust level grows. Unlike other years, this team is learning how to play with each other and win games; and IF they somehow makes the playoffs -unlikely- this imo, would be one of Belichick's finest coaching jobs.

More than Jerry got for Jaylon Smith!!

Packers loved that. The Pack are putting together a very good D believe it or not. I saw a bit of their game against SF and they are a very good D before getting Smith. This will make them even better.

The Pack will go as far as Aaron Rodgers carries them...regardless of who they have on D!!

But getting back to the Stephon Gilmore trade...His destination is interesting from the standpoint of Panthers emerging as the only real competition to Tom Brady's Bucs in the NFC South!! Belichick and Brady can act all chummy on camera, but I bet you anything they don't like each other!!

Well yes Aaron Rodgers is the key to their season but a major issue with them up until about the middle of last year has been a D that gives up much of what Rodgers was able to generate in points. So now they are turning that corner finally and looks like they are for real on D for once. The were reliant too much on the 2 stellar pass rushing specialists and rookie CB's and DB's up until now. Those DB's have matured and they still generate pass rush up front. This acquisition of the LB should help additionally against the run . I think they are very much in the hunt this year. Good thing because Rodgers won't be with them next year and they will have to hope Love gets up to speed quickly.....it's good he's had time to develop while Rodgers took 2 years to set off into the sunset.

And agree...all that stuff up in Foxboro between Brady and Bellichek was show.....inside they are seething LOL. It's why Brady took off...Bellichek just couldn't manage to be flexible with the franchise player and also couldn't admit that Brady was more important than he cared to admit. Now look at that schmuck. But I think NE WILL return to being competitive.....it's still a top notch organization. Will be interesting to see how long it takes and whether Bellichek remains fully invested in the NFL business. At some point you'd think he's gonna just hang it up.....both he and Brady are fighting father time.

Brady was the reason, the glue? Perhaps but Belichick just took a rookie QB and with a home town crowd actually against him, came within a curved goal post of beating last year's SB QB.
That is superb coaching.

yeah true....that will be very interesting to see how the rookie develops in that system under McDaniels and if he starts to resemble Brady after a while....if that team rises back up as before.....we'll know it's the organization/coach......Brady still will be the GOAT but he's had the benefit of a terrific coach/organization then immediately went to a contender again and put them over the top.

Yep. I guess a lot more e mails showed up covering a lot more folks.
Probably bad news for AFC West if they do get a new Coach.

to me, it sounds like a set up. Espn archived the emails. Davis asked for them. This way he can get out from under the 10/100 mil contract. If gruden was fired, i would sue for wrongful termination.

Word is the NFL had a surplus of Gruden emails and was going to keep leaking it until he quit or Davis fired him.
In a way, I feel bad for gruden. He was using locker
room talk in emails. I still feel that Davis was behind this to get out from under his contract.

If davis was truly a deek and a racist, one would think by now that a league with most of the players being black that the players would have kicked his ass by now.

its like he is a victim and an idiot at the same time.

but

i dont know the dude. He could be what the article says.

Either way, gruden has plenty of money to retire on and be financially secure.

I'm confused...I don't think Davis is being accused of being a "deek and a racist"...Gruden is.
So assuming that was a typo; I kinda agree with you. Like you, "I don't know the dude", and when I don't know someone, I look at their actions for clues as to who they are - more so than their words.
Gruden has a long history in the NFL...he was "The Wonderboy" of the coaching ranks at one time. He cut his teeth in the pros when Ray Rhodes brought him in as OC in Phili. He started Rodney Peete as QB back in 1995 when black QB's weren't a thing that they are now. He's coached hundreds of white players, black players, Samoan players, Jews, Christians...all kinds of people, from all walks of life, and not one has come out and said "he's a racist". During his head coaching career, he gave a start to guys like Mike Tomlin, and Raheem Morris. He spent 9 years on the MNF booth commenting on live games...Not once -that I can recall- did one get a hint of racism, misogyny, or homophobia in his speech. And up until last night, he was coaching the only openly gay player in the league, Carl Nassib!
So I don't know what was in these email, and why they're now being leaked; but if Gruden is a racist and all the other shit he's being accused of, then he's really good at hiding it....and someone who's good at hiding their feelings, doesn't go around sending raving racist diatribes all over the internet!!

Sure Gruden has money to burn, but fact is, he no longer has income potential. This is not a simple case of losing a job...he will likely never get another job, anywhere as a result of this. And if that's the case, shouldn't we at least know what was said in these emails that was soooo taboo that can take away a man's legacy and livelihood?? Because imho, that's too high a price for a simple comment on DeMaurice Smith's lips!

Agreed. Let's see Roger Goodell's emails, and emails from every other coach in the league. There would probably be no more NFL.

This cancel culture bullshit needs to end. Nobody was hurt by Gruden's private emails. Meanwhile, you have players who have beat the shit out of their girlfriends, been accused of murder and killed dogs, and they all continued with their careers.

yeah kind of sounds like Gruden has a hater in the league who wants him out and made him a scapegoat. The league has a shitload of issues that could be leaked and are way more damaging I'm sure....NFLPA is now demanding the WFT emails all be revealed lolz. The league could be in for a huge amount of way more damaging revelations. Might as well air all the baggage and get it out of the closet. I'd love for Goodell to end up ousted over all this stuff. The league and it's owners need a good comeuppance anyways. Arlen Specter was a pain in their asses until he upped and died. Maybe time for someone new to go after them. Back when I actually cared about a home team (not the owner obviously) I was against folks trying to bring down the league....felt they had an agenda sort of like cancel. But WTH....if anything pisses me off now it's the NFL.....have at it LOL.

So Snyder is the weasel behind the Gruden email leaks:

I hope the NFLPA is successful in making ALL WFT/Snyder emails public.....this should be good. More NFL dirt. Just what is needed to get that dumpster fire league to begin cracking and hope Goodell ends up involved too. LOLZ. Scumbags.

Might be a little more complicated than getting the NFLPA to help. Seems like they benefited from this leak too.

It will be up to the media to peel back this onion or else it’ll be a Spygate coverup all over again.

There's more to the
'Jon Gruden' story

Image
(Michael Loccisano/Getty Images)

By Jay Hart

Yesterday's story was Jon Gruden resigning as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders over content inside some leaked emails. Today's story: Who leaked those emails and why, after 10 months of the NFL investigating alleged workplace misconduct within the Washington Football Team organization, the only dirty laundry to be aired is about a coach of a football team 2,400 miles west of D.C.?

Whether or not you feel Gruden is a victim here, he certainly is a scapegoat. Some 650,000 emails to dig into, and his are the first and only so far to be made public? The only person being held accountable thus far for workplace misconduct is ... a guy who’s never worked for the organization under investigation for workplace misconduct.

If the NFL isn’t actually hiding anything from its investigation into alleged harassment within the WFT organization, it’s doing a bang-up job of looking like it is. The league reportedly won’t release a formal written report into its investigation, which begs that question of how the Gruden emails got out?

Our Charles Robinson took a look at that exact question, circling it around who benefited most from the Gruden revelations. Here's where it gets interesting.

The first leaked emails emerged Friday in which Gruden made a crude reference to the size of NFLPA boss DeMaurice Smith's lips. Coincidentally (or not), later that same day the NFLPA held a vote on whether or not to retain Smith as head of the union. The union did, but barely, with Smith reportedly receiving the minimum 22 votes to earn another term.

"The timeline of those events is suggestive that even if the NFL didn’t play a part in the leaks, the breaches may have accomplished what the league wanted to happen," Robinson writes. "And that — in theory — includes the re-affirmation of DeMaurice Smith as head of the player’s union, which was arguably a positive development for the NFL given that the league was able to broker continued labor peace with Smith at the controls ...

"If the leaked email to the Wall Street Journal helped Smith remain at the head of the union — and the NFL sees Smith as a leader it can work with peacefully — then it’s an arguable point that the leaked email about Smith helped the NFL as well."

In other words, if you were wondering how Jon Gruden got swept up in an investigation into a team he'd never worked for, well ...

Or if you were wondering why, out of 650,000 emails the NFL had privy to, Gruden's and Gruden's alone have been made public, well ...

It's worth taking a closer look, not at who didn't benefit, but who did.

Ah the rich.....I have no viewable tax returns.....I can't find where I put those 650,000 emails....
We don't need a written report....hey, how about that MNF game? Chuggers...there's a story...
Stan's moving? 100% appropriate....relocation fees? Never heard of them. That Watson guy should be more open.....Buffalo? Love them... Toronto? We if a Stadium is built we'd have to look into that...that's our duty to the fans.
