Dammit. Davies gives up a HR to Rios....3-1 Doggers. Not looking like our night. We've been down before plenty though so not giving up.

Beautiful catch in center by Grisham......full out dive and scoooped it up. Ends the inning. Maybe that will spark em. That guy is really playing clutch ball. Others need to step up. Really worried Nando is in a slump. Not a good time for that.

Well damn, that sucks. 3-1 Doggers. Had a shot with bases loaded and Myers and then Cronenworth successively struck out against Jansen to end it. Damn.

Dammit. They rallied in the end. Let’s get them tomorrow.
I really thought Myers was gonna come thru. Then Cronenworth too. Their pitching was just too much in the end. Yeah Gonsolin won that. Jansen almost blew it LOL.

Nando is really struggling. Looks like he's lost some confidence up there. The top of the order got owned pretty much tonite. Although Manny came up with a clutch single in the 9th to get things going. Don't think Lessland did a damn thing. We really need Hos bad. I think it's affecting Nando's game,,,,sort of a domino effect.

Tatis hit the ball hard a couple of times. He's slumping but also getting bad luck.

Lessland got a hit in the 9th! Though, that was the play that the CF misjudged and started back at first. Hey, it's still a hit and kept the rally going. He has no business batting cleanup though. He really shouldn't be in the lineup at all but he's gotta go to the bottom third at least.

Crap Dogs up 3-1 in the 4th. Morejon musta been rocky....Lucchesi now in and made a goof on a little infield grounder/bunt and the runner was safe at first allowing an additional Dog run that wasn't really earned IMO.

Perdomo did good. Still 3-1 Dogs. Man, Nando looks to be really struggling at the plate in the at bat I saw. Dude is gonna drop right out of MVP contention at this rate. Hope he turns it around for the playoffs, or better yet before that. I still think Hos' absence is really affecting the batting.

Perdomo gets pulled....runners at the corners and Dogs threatening bigtime again. In comes Hill. Pitching is the big difference between the clubs the last 2 games. Hope Hill miraculously holds the 3-1deficity and we can start hitting Mays.

Frak....Hill sucking....5-1 Dogs. Gave up a huge double to Smith and scored both runners at the corners.....Turner is slow as hell with the hamstring and Pads made such a poor relay throw it was about 10 yards wide of the plate. SMH. Team imploding now.

now 6-1 Dogs. I can't watch any more of this BS today. Maybe if I don't watch they'll make a comeback. I fully expect to check the score after the game and see about 10=1 Dogs. We suck today.

Hey just checked the final, Pads made a comeback at least 7-5. Perdomo, Hill, and Richards Effed us in the middle relief. Tatis 0-4, Leastland 0-4. Manny and Profar each 2-4. Some step it up. Some don't. Crone even having a little slump. Ah well 3.5 back again. WTF. Gotta get better before the playoffs. Gotta hand them a series loss next time to get back in their heads.

Moreland is batting .159 with the Padres. What a bum.
Yeah, bummer. Like I said, we need Hos back badly. I really think that hole in the batting order is killing us. Also think it is having an effect on Nando but not sure, maybe he's not seeing the pitches he would otherwise. Nando down to .281 BA. He was tearing it up. Could cost him the MVP. Maybe that damn ESPN 'best player in MLB and MVP" was a curse kinda like being on the cover of Madden.

So incredibly stupid.

So you need 9 pitchers to be on that day to have a chance.
Yeah , I mean how many arms got worn out in that losing effort that they didn't need to waste? IIRC they were down by 6 runs at one point but kept on bringing in a pitcher an inning LOL. 4 of em stunk. I didn't expect Morejon to start. Is he in the starting rotation????? We DID make a comback but it was way too late.

Well the SEA series is not exactly exciting after the Dogs. Hopefully we take that series and get back on track with the batting and middle relief. I hope Nando can start getting back into the swing. And hopefully Hos and Paddack heal during that one.

Well at least they moved it here, even though Seattle will be the home team this series.

Displaced Mariners set for 'home' series in San Diego
1:14 AM PT
  • Field Level Media
The Seattle Mariners will continue their homestand away from home Friday in San Diego.
The Mariners announced Thursday before their "home" game at San Francisco that this weekend's three-game series against the Padres would be moved to Petco Park because of hazardous air quality in the Seattle area due to wildfires in the Pacific Northwest.

Seattle had a two-game series against the Giants delayed a day and transferred to the Bay Area because of the unhealthy air. The Mariners (22-28) lost both of those games, including a 6-4 defeat on what was supposed to be an off day Thursday, and have lost three straight overall.
"It has certainly got its challenges," said Mariners manager Scott Servais of playing five straight games scheduled for T-Mobile Park on the road. "It has been a tough, crazy season, with all the things that have been thrown at our team. It's very challenging. But these guys are pros and know what's ahead of them."
That would be the Padres (32-19), who are in position to clinch their first playoff berth in 14 years this weekend.
The Padres are 19-8 at Petco Park this season, although they will be considered the visitor for the next three days.
"We enjoy playing at our ballpark," San Diego manager Jayce Tingler said. "We've certainly practiced here a lot, and we've done a lot of intrasquads. We feel like we know this field very well, and the dimensions and how it plays. We play very good baseball here."
The Padres had an eight-game winning streak snapped with a 3-1 loss to the National League West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. San Diego then lost 7-5 to the Dodgers on Wednesday in a bullpen game, with the Padres wanting to give right-hander Chris Paddack additional time to recuperate from a sprained right ankle.
Paddack (3-4, 4.74 ERA) is scheduled to start Friday night's series opener against Mariners left-hander Yusei Kikuchi (2-3, 5.35 ERA).
Paddack left his start against San Francisco after two innings on Sept. 10. He hurt the ankle sometime during the first inning but had it taped between innings and went back out for the second. After a dip in velocity, he left for X-rays, which proved negative.
"He ended up with a sprained right ankle, which is a shame," Tingler said. "Because I thought the way he threw the ball in the first, I thought he was onto something special.
"We're hoping for the best and hoping (Paddack) can make that next start. But just watching his first inning and how crisp he was with his fastball and the changeup ... we know it's there. From that part, we don't really have much concern. Our concern now is with the ankle."

Paddack is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA in two career starts against the Mariners. He took the loss Aug. 25 against Seattle at Petco Park, allowing six runs on eight hits in five-plus innings of an 8-3 defeat. Austin Nola, acquired by San Diego at the trade deadline, and J.P. Crawford homered off Paddack in that game.
Kikuchi is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA in two career starts against San Diego, including an 8-3 victory in the second game of a doubleheader on Aug. 27 at Petco Park. In that contest, he went five innings and allowed three runs on seven hits with no walks and six strikeouts.

so according to the above, Tinkler wanted to give Paddack extra rest resulting in using the entire bullpen against the Dogs. What?
