He got taken out of the Thanksgiving game. Maybe more, I don’t follow Detroit but he ain’t getting any younger. He’s not the bastion of conditioning like Brady either. Two number ones and a too steep of a price for a guy who is clearly breaking down.

Not to be outdone, the LAC are talking to Sam Bradford's agent! :D

I agree with Fender...The Rams paid way too high a price for him. He HAS to win it NEXT year, for this to make any kind of sense.

Goff will like the offense he's just walked in to. They have lots of pieces in place. Only problem is that he's in Detroit, and those guys can't seem to get both sides of the ball working simultaneously.

Stafford will have a Defense that's on his side finally. He'll have to learn a whole new offense, and a very complicated one at that. He's been on the worst team in a very tough NFC North, but now he's on a contender in the even tougher NFC West. Time is not on his side!

Interesting take on the Goff for Stafford trade. Strap on draft picks to clean up a salary cap mistake.

Great find of an article, Fender. I think if teams can deal with $43 million, they shouldn't
they be able to pay their $65 million annual relocation installment?

And if a certain player named Joey Bosa can't play in 2021 and 2022....how does a certain team
Deal with $63 million and then $43 million in dead cap hit money?

Don't the Rams constantly trade off their 1st picks? At least the last 3 first picks went to other teams I believe.
Too much is made of first round picks. Dante Fowler was drafted third.
Missed first yr with Jags, after four years traded to Rams, excellent first SB year,
Signed one yr. $14 million deal with Rams, signed with Atlanta in 2020 three years,
$48 million. Covid listed, played in November.

I bet Melvin Ingram signs with the Rams.

Notice how Rome loves the Rams for the way they make every effort possible despite the money to win. They want to win every year and do whatever it takes to win. That is the opposite of Spanos and many other.....who as he puts it "just want to make money and their superbowl is making money'. That is spanos in a nutshell....making money, the bottom line, that is what counts more than anything else for that cheap bastard.

And Rich Eisen loves the Rams move, and compares it to the Eagles approach to a similar situation:

Doesn’t surprise me the major media talking heads (Hollywood) is heaping praise on the Rams, there is a major push to legitimize the LA move, the albatross that is Spenis notwithstanding. All of that doesn’t take away from the fact that the Rams had to severely overpay to fix a major error (guaranteed money to Goff) and that Stafford is old and breaking down. It’s a risky move, but I acknowledge it was something they had to do if for no other reason to shed themselves of Goff’s contract. But if Stafford goes down, the Rams will be behind the eight ball for a few years, by then the defense will probably be old.

Spot on. Herbert is the star to sell tickets....the offensive line is terrible. We'll draft 13th because they will keep us in that fake comfort zone of 'building'.....we have another young (cheap) coach to make everything perfect.
KC Reid is a superior Coach. But see how many things the KC organization does to keep top players moving in? LeVon Bell is going to the Super Bowl.
Spanni's team is a toy for his boys to play with. NFL is going to lose money on that move.
Because....the ..”all in” Rams owner will eventually sue Deano for failure to keep up his part of the construction costs.

Aaron Donald. Guaranteed $89.5 million
In six years missed two games. Has 89.5 sacks mostly at DT.

Joey Bosa. $102 million guaranteed. 47.5 sacks.
In four seasons has only two 16 game season.
2020 8th in sacks, 28th in tackles.
Melvin will be leaving free agent I believe, and they'll need another
Opposite edge rusher. Mike Williams I also think, will leave and Hunter will
Be re-signed.
So two more no.1 draft picks I think will leave

Joey Bosa is a borderline bust based on fhe money he is making and draft position. The guy gets lost in the line a lot. He is not an every down linemen. If I was the opposing offense, I would run rat at him. He is a good defenseive linemen but not elite. The problem is he is making elite money.

agree...he was largely absent last season. Coincidence after he basically got lifetime money? I don't think so. We'll see what the so called Rams D genius does with the guy but they aren't gonna have half an Aaron Donald ANYWHERE on that D line. That DC (is it Staley?) had huge talent over at the Rams. HUGE. Those guys get so overrated and it's happened time and again in the NFL...those types of coaches getting HC jobs and failing. Bradley,Ryan,Pagano,Patricia, and on and on and on. BTW there were TWO Ryans who ended up in flames as HC.I'm sure there are countless others , WAAAAAY more than were successful ultimately. And Bellichek benefitted from #1) cheating #2) Kraft and huge #'s of great players #3) most of all Brady. Pete Carroll is one guy who breaks the mold IMO. GREAT coach and spenis could have gone after him (SoCal) and eaten norb's contract but did not. spenis is a complete penis for not doing that. He never makes the right decisions for front office OR coaching. Always fails.

For years, I've thought of the amazing Marshawn Lynch "Beast Quake" rumble against the Saints
as the best run in modern NFL history. One of the very greatest plays of all time.

But the more I watch this mind-blowing 2018 Derrick Henry run...I'm gradually thinking that no,
maybe this is the best. (at 3:05 of this stunning highlight reel). 99 yards!!
Henry averaged 5.4 ypc this, his 5th season, on 378 (!) carries! So fucking impressive!!
(Cook had 312, Jacobs had 273...Henry had 131 more carries than #4!! [David Montgomery w/ 247])
He's listed at 247, and yet no one had more 40+ carries (4) this season!!

My god. Jackson at 38...Nix at 29! What the hell is going on?

He was barely on my radar, but "Irish Chocolate" is a damned sweet nickname.

Some later reporting mentions a "pond"...fwiw. Regardless, 29 is a criminal age for a guy to be gone.

No one is saying what happened to Nix. However in Dec. he was shot in the chest while filling his car at a gas station and survived. Early GUESS here is gang/drug related but who the hell knows at this point? It could be anything. He was found in a pond is the rumor? WTF. If so that is probably homicide. Generally one does not commit suicide or die accidentally in a pond unless they are drunk and drive into one. That would probably not be a missing person if he did that. Whatever the case, RIP Nix. He was highly touted out of college and dropped way down the board. Cannot remember if that was due to some history of bad stuff in college.

Well, of course it's more important that LousNix III is prematurely deceased, than how he died...

but, I must say, I can't remember a situation quite like this. Despite confirming that they found
Nix's car in a nearby pond, and allegedly asking family members if he knew how to swim,
it appears that law enforcement is still withholding cause of death info from the family.

Which is odd. Maybe (hopefully?) they want to make sure that this has nothing to do
with the December shooting incident, before making any public conclusions.
But "Family members want answers..." is not a particularly welcome headline, at this point.

still the whole thing is sketchy. they say they found the car in a pond....so assuming he was in the car, but they don't even confirm that. . All a mystery at this point. Could be just about anything. Given the shooting in Dec. I'd GUESS it's related to that....it was close to where that happened. Territory. But it could still be ANYTHING. Junior drove his car off a cliff. Nix could have been suicidal from CTE. Who knows? Either way RIP, feel very sad for him and his family who sound distraught. Damn.....yes way way way way too young. If this has anything to do with CTE the NFL is going to take a huge hit IMO. The last incident with Vincent Jackon on the surface would appear to be very likely CTE.

IF, and a big IF, this is CTE, IMO the NFL should just be done away with. How much do the mfing owners need to make, how much does the fucking league need to make , when they KNOW young players are getting CTE andeach and every game is additive? Just stop the nonsense. Of course they still allow professional boxing. Whatever makes money I guess is ok in America. They ENCOURAGE these players to perform at the combine and that mean PED's and everything under the sun , and to make attempts to skirt the testing, just so the game can be more exciting for fans....you know big hits, big brawling players, freakish speed and power and strength. It is no coincidence that offensive linemen now make THE HOGS of the 70's look like smallish linebackers. Seriously,,,,for what??? Nothing more than ratings and money . Unconscionable IMO> And it's not just the NFL BTW,,,,it starts in HS and goes thru college. Time to end it all IMO.Same as professional boxing.

And those that say the players know the risks , they take them fully knowing what they might end up like, don't go there. That is a cop out. Why can't they demand weight limits per position? Because that means less money, less of the wow factor for fans and revenue. JHMO.
