No offense but who is Daniel Jeremiah and what are his qualifications? He seems to give everyone a great review or nothing really negative. It's funny how they claim these guys are so called "draft experts" yet have they ONCE held a position as scouting director or even as a scout in one of the NFL's organizations? Mel Kiper Jr.? There's another good one. All this stuff is hype and speculation for the most part. I don't buy most of it. Glad I didn't watch the draft last year or this year either. The Padres game was GREAT tonite. Anyone catch it besides me and Fender and TKK? Anyone? If you watched the NFL draft over that and are a San Diegan, shame on ya all.

good on you....that was a terrific game. Let me know if you see more definitive evidence yates picked off the runner at first. I think you are right btw I just had a small screen on MLB Mix as there were 8 games at once. And let me know if Machado should have made that play or if it would have been another miracle play like he backhanded wide of the foul line that game when it went viral. That dude has mad defensive skills. GREAT game to watch , that team is fun and I think if they can hang around the mid to upper division for a while they'll gain confidence in one another and gel and form chemistry as a team that could make very good things happen sooner than we all anticipated. I sure hope so. SD needs to get over the NFL. ( See my post in the Chiefs thread re: Hill as to why. Frankly I'm sort of giving up on wanting the NFL back in SD. Good riddance to that league of crooks, thieves and bad character players as well as overpaid spoiled babies who expect fans to idolize them. They aren't all that. Most of em are conceited and think the world of themselves.)

The Manny play would’ve been a great play had he fielded it. He was diving, he would’ve had to pop up to make the throw. The ball just took a weird hop over his glove.

The pickoff was super close. They slowed it down and you could see Hosmer’s glove bend on the tag and it appeared the hand was not touching the bag but I could see how they might have said inconclusive - the glove was white as was the base and it was tough to tell if he was touching it if there was air. On the final slo-mo replay Grant was adamant he was out but the director of the broadcast zoomed in on the tag which obscured the hand on the bag for us, the viewer. But hey, they won. Yates made it interesting at the end, but 13 for 13.

Cool thanks. Yeah I bet Manny thinks he coulda made that play, but in reality it would likely have been another one of those that goes viral like the play outside the foul line at 3rd and that incredible otherworldly throw to 1st base on a string. He'll get more of those no doubt. Yeah that was very close at 1st on the potential tag out that would have ended it....but glad we won any way...that 9th inning was nervous time. Yates came thru when he had to and got himself out of trouble . That's a good learning experience. I like his pitches......dude gets a lot of batters tied up in knots. I loved what he did to Kaboom to end the game. LOLZ. Kaboom got him earlier but Yates got the last laugh. Hopefully we sweep them tomorrow! GO PADS!!!!! We need to discuss Padres baseball in this section so the NFL goes extinct:laugh:

He was a He was a scout for The Eagles, Browns and Ravens, He is the NFL Networks draft expert because he has qualifications and works in that department, He also is a San Diego native and announcer for the LA Chargers, Kiper has been analyzing draft picks since the 80's, watching endless amounts of game tapes and predicting picks, the fact that he has been doing this for 35 years, and is highly regarded in draft circles, tells me he has qualifications. Bucky Brooks was an NFL player and an NFL scout, now works as an NFL draft sports writer, Gil Brandt was an NFL GM, head scout, Draft writer

So as an announcer for the LA Chargers we can trust his opinion re: their draft picks to be entirely objective and trustworthy, got it.

I love HoF guys (like Gates) who went undrafted,
because it serves as a constant reminder that all this
"conventional wisdom" that most draftniks agree on,
isn't anywhere near as solid as most pretend it is...

Not to mention the Great Mel Kiper.

LOLOLOLOL...brilliant or would you rather believe the Fabiani/Spanos Fixerboy?: "Kiper has been analyzing draft picks since the 80's, watching endless amounts of game tapes and predicting picks, the fact that he has been doing this for 35 years, and is highly regarded in draft circles, tells me he has qualifications." Like I said...troll, and misinformed at that.

NFL Draft = slave market for the plantation owners. Abe would have abolished the draft.;)
With the salary cap in place there should be no danger of any one team getting a monopoly of available declared amateurs. Abolish the draft and let the players negotiate their way onto teams of their choice.
