yeah saw that this am. Doesnt look good for them to continue the season. Can't imagine NFL will be able to either....that should be even more of a risk and by quite a margin....lots of constant contact and players exhaling all over each other.....my guess is that becomes obvious early in TC.just forget it and move on to next season. Players unions ought to deny any release of liability on the part of MLB and NFL....that would end it. Sad to see it happen but realistically how are they figuring they can protect that many players. One case transmits to 6 others pretty quickly and so on so it's hugely exponential as to spread. Incredibly contagious virus. Even out in the open air there is possible exposure at 6 feet.....players even in MLB are running fast and breathing hard. Makes no sense to be doing that schit with this contagious and dangerous a virus.

The big litmus test is in Philadelphia. If test results there come back adequately negative with their clubhouse crew, it would be possible to continue, Miami would just have to bring up their next set of players to replace all of the infected ones. If the Philly crew is infected I can’t see how they could continue.

I mean that's a lot of players to replace.LOL Maybe they could make this season super interesting, if the real players all get sick, then start grabbing folks off the street willing to step up......how cool would that be??? Fauci would make an excellent pitcher:laugh:

They have I believe a 60 man roster but yeah, all it would take is one good wave to deplete that roster.

The only way to play sports safely right now is to put the team in a bubble. I believe that's what they are doing in Europe for soccer.

Baseball wouldn't be so bad since it's only a 60 game season. I wonder how the Marlins initially got infected.

Marlins will be off until next Monday. Philadelphia also given time off until Friday and Baltimore will play NYY instead.

Although the article doesn’t mention it, I bet the reason why Philadelphia is given this time off to see if there are any outbreaks after their series with Miami.

Just our luck. I know it's early but a short season with expanded playoffs and off to a great start looking like this could be the year and we're probably hit the SDSU Basketball curse.

reading between the lines the players are not being responsible off the field. Really, you cannot operate in this pandemic unless there is a foolproof bubble. The virus is just way too contagious. It's a 24/7 effort to make sure someone doesn't contract this damn virus. Its' extremely hard to do. And even IF someone follows all the guidelines, there is still a chance aersolized virus leaks around a 'mask' even at 6 feet. And it can get into the eyes. No guarantee. I think odds are against this season lasting. JMHO. Can you imagine the NFL starting training camps LOL. That is the dumbest thing ever. Must be Jerrah deciding things and he's got to have that SoFi ready to showcase. Dumbass.

Watching the game tonight, I saw multiple players spitting at the plate. That's disgusting anytime but especially now.

If they just did the "bubble" thing though, they could act like it's normal. But as we've seen in this country, there are too many that just can't follow the rules.

yeah, totally stupid. Spitting? Seriously??? I mean you'd think MLB would have gone thru multiple intensive training drill as to how to act on and off the field to minimize risk. Apparently they just figured everyone would understand. Eh, this won't last then. No way. So spitting, someone happens to step in it, ties their shoes and gets in on the hands, touches the face/eyes, and next covid case and before it's detected 6 other players have it (or more).

ESPN is saying the count is 13 now.

"The Cardinals have had 13 members of the organization test positive for COVID-19 in the last week, including seven players and six staff members," the league said in a statement.
